The name of the game in poker is to ruthlessly exploit mistakes and inefficiencies of your opponents. Failed internet connections is but one aspect of this. Press the raise button repeatedly at all times until your opponent reconnects. This is optimal play within the rules of the game.

You guys who agree with deluz, do you realise finding 2k in the street and not attempting to return it to its owner is the definition of stealing? I agree that this situation is similar and that taking livb's money is pretty much stealing as well.

finding $2000 in the street = you don't know who dropped it.

finding $2000 in the form of livb112 registered or a HU sng and appearing not to be there = you DO know whose money it is.

i'd always steal there blinds if this happens and blame them for taking so long and wasting my time. they don't have a defense for that

Makes me wonder, why does FTP not automatically unregister disconnected players from sngs that haven't started yet? Or at least give that option?
06-02-2008 , 12:09 PM
seems like he wasnt really disconnected but just afk, no?
06-02-2008 , 12:13 PM
He disconnected though at some point, while he was registered for other sngs. At that point, he should be unregistered from any sngs. When he reconnects, he can reregister if he still wants to play.
It's not really hard to imagine someone leaving the pc when they disconnect, and still being afk when they reconnect.

if the player starts the game disconnected , and does not return, the rake from the disconnected player should be given to the player with proper connection - and buy-ins refunded to each.

seems like the fair way to compensate for the time wasted for the player that has good connection. and this way players with unreliable connections assume risk too.

The bot had to malfunction sometime.........

has anyone actually seen livb112?
06-02-2008 , 02:44 PM
it's not like finding 2k on the street and picking it up...that's a pretty terrible analogy

it's more like you're walking through the park and come across an old man having a seizure on the park bench with a 2k wad of hundo's in his lap

i think if i were in the that guy's shoes i'd blind him down for the first one and then register for the 2nd one, take it down and send bak his money minus the rakes + 20% of the entry fee or something like that

so you'd send him back the buy-in, and send him back an additional 20% ..

so , 100 buy in , u'd send him back 100 + 20 = 120 - your 105 = -15 for you + the 95 profit on the 1st = $80

generous stealer !

dale is a scumbag for the 2nd sng.

Did livb turn down all offer of his challenge?
