I think shortdeck would really benefit from pot-limit structure. The game itself is pretty fun and action laden, but the openshoving kills it all imo...
also pot-limit would incentivize people sitting with deeper stacks, making it more skill heavy. PLO is a good similar example with equities running close.

Games on GG for example play so shallow (deadmoney to stack ratio) that I cant bother playing them, especially with the high rake.
(Dont know if this is the right forum)

i'm not sure there's a single game of any format that doesn't play better at pot limit as opposed to no limit, but both the action players across all sites that still exist these days are "me like cards go all-in" so they will never run

PLO is very popular if you ask me, also players are all-in more frequently than in NLHE

Yes and yes, but how does it help someone sitting down at $5/$10 PLO, liking his cards because he has two queens AND two jacks, trying to jam over a pot raise and being told he can only make it $120?

no way pot limit would ruin short deck. getting it all in alot is what makes it fun. overbets are fun. whats not fun is having to call 75% of the time because you have equity and cant bet enough to make your opponent fold.

Short deck is a game of equity denial but you cant always denie equity with pot bets or smaller. Also you make the most money and your biggest edge is preflop at least vs fish but with pot limit its usually going to be 6 way to the flop thats not very fun

Getting all in preflop all the time is precisely why short deck isnt fun. It should be Pot Limit, which is OPs point.

Just make it pot limit preflop, then it will be perfect.

Well, this is your personal opinion.

I dont see how it would ruin the game though, in fact my suggestion maxes out the potential the game could offer.

You talk about equity denial, ... any skilled player will tell you its much more efficient to deny equity being deep with future streets to come, compared to shallow shoves.
The skill ceiling is going higher with effective SPR being higher.

By your logic equity denial would be impossible in PLO, which is.... laughable to say the least

Six ways to the flop is more fun than heads up.

as someone whos played hundreds of thousands of multiway shortdeck pots i completely disagree you can barely ever bluff.im not sure how not getting the money in a gambling game is considered fun to some

I agree, Shortdeck should be pot limit. Specially tournament bubbles are terrible when table chipleader can open-shove pretty much anything.
