BO doesn't neccesarily correspond to hygene. At my fist big tournament, 2.5 hours in, despite showering that morning and spending the day on my arse in an air conditioned room, I was ripe. I'm not particularly schveatty, otherwise I'd have probably had some backup deo. I ended up blinding off a few orbits when I made a run to Walgreens during a break. I attributed it to the pressure and the concentration exerted.

Why would you wash your hands after peeing if you didn't get anything on them? Is your man meat that dirty? Considering all the random dirty stuff my hands touch throughout the day, I'd venture to say my hands themselves are far more disgusting than my one-eyed night crawler in the turtle-neck sweater usually is.

And all these people who use the sanitary gel or whatever, doesn't that screw up your skin if you use it compulsively, like ruin the natural oils or whatever? I'm no botanist so I don't know the technical terms here. I recently read the stuff in antibacterial soap is not very water-soluble, so that crap stays on your hands for a very long time.

I'm all for washing my hands less so as to boost my body's natural defenses, unless there's something sticky or greasy on them (can't stand that).

a dealer once told me he got a rash on his ding-a-ling because he didnt wash his hands BEFORE he took a squirt after being at a poker table. So now i scrub before and after i touch my johnson if i'm playing live.

Seriously, the last 2 times I played at the Taj, I came down with some horrific virul flu illness afterwards. The first time, took me like 2 months to get rid of it. Like some mutating parasite that wouldn't leave my body. That poker room has to have the highest ratio of scummy poker players ever. And the establishment aint helping things with those disgusting, never been cleaned/replaced chips. The supposed white $1 chips are like brown.

But the games are so juicy.....I wish I couple multi table the Taj from my couch....

Bad breath pwns body odor any day in my book, and at tri state there's plenty of bad breath to go around, I'm gonna start handing out breath mints when i join a table.

bad breath is disgusting at the table. i recently played against a chinese man siting to my left who clearly hadnt brushed his teeth for a week. to make matters worse, there was another chinese guy on my right, and between hands they would always talk to each other and i got the crosswind every time. so gross

Knock on wood, but I have been playing live poker for 9 years and have not had any major issues with people smelling bad. A few times yes, but not a lot. And yes, I am always clean and smell nice wherever I go.

Always always wash your hands before and after you use the bathroom at a casino!

I've never been in a crosswind (LOL), but the BO just tilts me. And you'd think that our sense of smell should habituate after an hour or so.

Well I was going to go play live at the BCPC, but now this thread is making me reconsider.

I agree that bad body odor at the is disgusting. On a side note, my stomach occasionally makes loud gurgling noises while at the poker table. Absolutely no smells are associated with this noise, but I am still very embarrassed about it. Out of respect for my tablemates should I just pack up the chips and head home every time this happens?
