Quite simple, not caring wtf happens or being invested in it makes you a much better player. You don't get emotions which leads to things such as tilt. Even though this is obvious and everyone says that, its 100% different when people get 1 outered in a huge pot and do care and do show emotions which seperates the strong from the weak. One of the biggest intangable factors in poker is emotion which can make even the best players turn bad.

Revolutionary concept! I'm surprised no one has thought of this already!

It has already been proven this does not work. IE, it is inadvertently stated in the post below.

Thanks for linking to that, was enjoyable.

OP is probably right in that lack of emotional control is the costliest leak for the majority of ppl.

I dunno. I used to make myself bleed everytime I lost a pot. I soon decided that I wanted to stop spewing. Or losing money for that matter. Def a better player for it.

Someone said that if you can avoid tilt completely you´re already in the top 10 in the world.

Players too wealthy to care about losing are very popular at the tables, I'm told.

Ever play a $5 donkament with your friends? No one cares about the money, and you will see possibly the highest level of poker possible.

yeah, I don't care about poker at all, never study and don't even know any basic odds or strategy. I'm pretty sure I could crush Phil Galfond. Just give a few 2nl maniacs a roll and they'd likely bankrupt Ivey.

This has to be one of the dumbest posts of the year. The key to poker is not caring: OK. That will just cause you to spew and lose buyin after buyin. The key to poker is able to think logically and on an advanced level than your opponent(s) so your able to constantly make better decisions. This in the long run will win you the most $$$$.

Yes its true that tilt will cause you lose countless amounts of money, and one form of tilt is letting your emotions get the better of you where u then make bad decisions based off of the emotions your feeling rather than the logic of the situation. However emotional tilt is just one form of many. You could also suffer from quitting tilt, game selection tilt, (which if u don't care about the $$$ will probably cause you to suffer greatly from this and would more than offset any emotional tilt benefits you gain from not caring) and many other forms of tilt.

However one form of benefit of not caring is that you won't necessarily go on life tilt and committ suicide if you go broke so maybe OP is on to something

maybe if you are some die hard poker enthusiast caring about wins and losses dont bother you, you just play cause you love the game, is that possible?

This is why I always drink heavily when I play. That way, when I lose big, I don't care so much.

Yeah that's how Ivey made so much money. He stopped caring a long long time ago while everyone else was making the stupid mistake of caring so much. Makes sense.

OP has it partially right. If you already have the right skills, then not being concerned about money could be an assett.
