Yes me too as I stated previously. Your response leads me to believe you are not telling the truth. In my experience, and what I have seen is uniform throughout Congress (Senators and House members). Every single piece of correspondance is looked at, every thing is logged so that return "form letter" correspondance can be sent back to the constituent. Now the staff is the one that sees the emails, but I guarantee you they are not just deleting the emails, or they will be fired quickly. The Representative is certainly made aware if a large amount of people are weighing in on a certain topic, and will be given the statistics on it (ie 90% in favor of online poker 10% against)

Correspondance from constituents is taken extremely serious by lawmakers and anyone trying to tell you otherwise is a liar.

There's no reason you can't do both. Don't not send these letters because you feel you have a better idea, just do both, this literally takes 30-60 seconds.

The good news that I see is the Media is not Killing Us with negative reports that seems to have happened in the past so often. Latest Wall Street Journal Story is not negative and also sports some intersting, pro poker comments.

I don't think this is the biggest priority right now. As much as I wish it was, Congress is busy enough fighting over the budget among other things.

Hehehe.... I think they are getting sick of hearing from poker players!! The last call I made the woman was like "You are like the hundredth person calling this morning". another one gave me the heavy sigh when I started to give him the spiel. Keep it up folks! I tried the DOJ number a few times and it just rings for ever or I get fast busy signal. I hope this is cause of poker players.

I sent off my form letter to the prez and my Congressmen. I received this reply today from the Honorable Roy Blunt of Missouri:

Quote:
Thank you for your letter on the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA).

As you know, in 2006 the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act passed through Congress as Title VIII of the SAFE Port Act. UIGEA prohibits gambling-related businesses from accepting checks, credit card charges, electronic transfers, and similar payments in connection with unlawful Internet gambling. It does not make online gambling illegal; rather it provides the legal mechanisms necessary for authorities to enforce current laws. The UIGEA went into full effect on June 1, 2010.

While I understand and appreciate all Americans' rights to individual freedom, I believe that legalized internet gambling could have a potentially harmful effect. Internet gambling is rapidly increasing, appealing to a wider range of individuals, specifically younger players who are susceptible to the addictive nature of gambling. It can place undue stress on the family relationships and finances. Gambling by one individual can have a profound adverse effect on a wider community.

Again, thank you for contacting me. I look forward to continuing our conversation on Facebook (www.facebook.com/SenatorBlunt) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/RoyBlunt) about the important issues facing Missouri and the country. I also encourage you to visit my website (blunt.senate.gov) to learn more about where I stand on the issues and sign-up for my e-newsletter.

Sincere regards,

Roy Blunt
United States Senator
Time to vote the bums out!
