That's a bit like putting a tourniquet around your neck because your head is bleeding, isnt it? You're not really solving anything doing it that way...

Look, we're never going to eliminate cheating altogether. There could always be two ******s IMing each other their hands. It's also no secret that online poker has been on the decline in the US since UIGEA. For online poker to continue to flourish or get back to 04-05 levels, we certainly don't need 60 minutes telling America that the casinos we're supposed to trust are cheating them. Poker already has a bad enough reputation off the tables as it is.

Yes we should all just sit back do nothing and let the cheaters bend us over, steal our money, and then threaten us when we investigate them. Yeah that will show them.

Macgyver, just let the real men and woman handle this and you just stay on the sidelines and keep your mouth shut, pussy.

You could have more to lose by not seeing this through to its logical conclusion. For instance, there has to be more people like myself that will not put anymore money on a poker site until there is closure and the bad guys are at least removed from the picture. Maybe I am one of the fish. I have never had a large enough BR to find out to my own satisfaction. If the industry becomes regulated and approved and yes, even taxed, I will reconsider. But not until then. For now just consider me an educated fish. If there are a lot of other players out there like myself, you'd better hope for a good conclusion to this, because 60 Minutes will be airing the story and more fish will be educated.

That's not what I'm suggesting at all. However, we're going about this the wrong way and spreading more negative light on a subject and industry already clouded in negativity.

making things easy for reporters to at least write a short piece of copy is the way to get a story started.

The SHORT summary and personal connection will make the story like 1000x easier to write and therefore equally more likely to get written. 60min is doing the in depth thing, its the headline that needs shopping around.

get it in an LV paper, a local paper for someone who lost say over 100k, things like that, and then it can be picked up by larger outlets.
I submitted this to the Las Vegas Review Journal and Channel 13 here in Vegas. I also emphasized that a former WSOP champion and local Las Vegan Russ Hamilton is linked to the superuser accounts. I submitted this about a week ago.

Please send a short summary of the UB scandal and the appropriate links to these members of the media some of these contacts may be outdated but I got them from a media guy and the vast majority are current. They are mostly Vegas media contacts. Many of these contacts should have at least heard of some of the people who live in Vegas and have been mentioned as possibly being involved in this scandal...Please be sure to use the links to the sticky and any other good links and please ask your friends to send this out too. I don't think we can send too many emails... Thanks.

This can hurt online poker overall if word gets out to all the media. Then online poker will be sent to congress and banned.

What happens in online poker should stay within the poker community and UB should be judged from within by us the poker players boycotting there site.
07-20-2008 , 08:51 PM
Keep in mind most "main stream" media outlets view
poker as sleazy gambling and not a gentleman's game.
They may not sympathize with online poker players getting cheated. The Kahnawake aspect* is know in Canada(woosies) but not in the US which 1/3 of Kahnawake land is located.

OnlinePoker is already broken... and is getting worse. The only way to fix it is through full disclosure, and then regulation.
07-20-2008 , 09:07 PM
i think it would be more profitable for winning online players to have the media not know anything about this

Quick about me Mookman5. I am most likely a losing online low stakes player. I have self excluded myself from play on Pokerstars and Full Tilt until Dec. 12. I emailed UltimateBET and said I had a gambling problem. Buy they still allowed me and my backers, Mastercard and Visa to play. Then I found a good story.

This about the poker site Absolute Poker and the owners/cheaters

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21381022/?GT1=10450

Then I see on the the news section for the site I am currently playing, Ultimatebet. The cheating seems so similar.

http://www.ultimatebet.com/poker-new...igation-Update
http://www.ultimatebet.com/poker-new...-Status-Update

Since i am under investigation for fraud, if you have any questions in regards to security at Ultimatebet. please call their Security team for UB/AP at 1-877-887-6537.

Then I figure a credible news source, a somewhat credible site, making public statements, I went to a highly respected Online Poker Forum, 2p2 poker forum I lurk for awhile. The I Find this Story with a lot of hard to dispute facts.

A "sticky" as they say.

I say tell these new people...... thx to the one whoe sent me this

I don't think you understand. UB and AP Cheated. Online poker is broken. The PPA is lobbying to overturn UIEGA and/or exclude online poker from UIEGA (without much success I might add), PPA is primarily funded by by online sites... if they are successful, all that changes is its easier for people to send money to and from unregulated offshore corporations - some of which have admitted to stealing from their own customers.... These corporations need to be prosecuted and the public needs to be aware... the current approach is not working. The online sites dont want to be taxed and regulated they want to be offshore unregulated but they want to be able to move money around.. can't have it both ways. If online poker gets licensed, regulated, taxed by US we will see a player boom much greater than Moneymaker boom that will be good for online poker. Its going to have to get worse before it gets better and its going to take US intervention to assure fair games.

Does anybody know when the new episode of BPS will air on pokerroad radio? I have been awaiting haralabob's reaction to new findings.

BG mentioned on poker road radio that bob knew more about this than he himself did.

Thank you for contacting us.

We have forwarded your email to our Security Department. They will contact you as soon as possible.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you require further assistance or additional information.

I saw suspicious activity, reported the 2 names, and they were still playing the next day, my account was close less than 12 hours after a report? I have not played all that much, so there shold not be tooo much to investigate.
PLEASE Get me an update or I, along with my 2 deposits a week, are no longer going to play on the site. period. not any thype of threat, just upset about being wrongfull accused and not given any updates.

thx
