Congrats to them, They both gave put in lots of work and serious effort to accomplish it. I really hope that Jaime, for his own sake he doesn't just go back to gaining all of it back and can maintain this new healthier outlook on life but I guess we will all have to wait to see what happens. I think a lot of people are on his side now after this crazy prop bet win, but also wonder how quickly those people would turn if he just ends up blowing this opportunity of a lifetime by falling back on old habits.

I am also very curious to see how much money & at what odds it would take Jaime to stay at the same weight for another year given like a ~10lb leeway, I don't even if anyone mentioned something similar to this during the stream or as of late but would be interesting to see his take on it considering the bet is now over with.

Anyways with all that said I wish them both good luck, I know Matt will be a solid 145-155lbs in no time. I have myself been super thin my entire life and can not even begin to imagine having to gain nearly 55lbs in a year, that is basically half my body weight.

I don't see how you can think he was lazy. He lost 115lbs or more than 2lbs per week for an entire year. That is a healthy amount of weight to lose over the course of a year.

I think they said their original goal weight was 180 and he came within 8 pound of that goal.

I gotta admit, I was a bit baffled by all the walking, instead of some high intensity cardio. Just seems inefficient with his time, especially with 2 weeks to go and they were still like 15 pounds apart, but I guess Vacanti was ok with it. Agree that it seems like Matt had to pile on a crapload of weight towards the end of the bet to make up the difference.

Jaime was eating like legit 1000kcal per day for those last weeks. And you want him to do tons of HIIT cardio. Lmao.

Incase you didn't see it, they walked across Malta one day after running stairs btw in one of the last vlogs from there.

Could Jaime have lost 10 more lbs in the timeframe? Of course he could have. He could have lost 20 more. Or 30 more too. Just could've eaten less and moved more. What the **** is the point of pointing that out? Dude went from 310 to 188 in a year.

You guys would be hating even if he came out a holocaust victim I swear

edit: Does anyone who thinks he should've lost more even lift? Or dieted down a considerable amount oneself? Something tells me no. This could all just be becaues I'm cranky from my own dieting right now btw

It's a reasonable achievement, nobody can deny that. But he did the bare minimum and that is a fact.

He should have worked out harder and ate much better, every single day for the year.

1 - He would be lighter
2 - Matt would be lighter
3 - He would be much fitter
4 - He would be much more focused to continuing a healthy life after the bet is over

Eating 1000 calories of bacon and trying to starve yourself thin isn't a good solution long term. He should have made a real life changing commitment from day 1. Now his risk of slipping back to old habits is high.

Losing over 100 pounds in a year is only a "reasonable achievement"?

No-one really gave him a chance at the start (myself included), what he's done is incredible. The vast majority of people that try to lose weight fail.

It's also the bare minimum. If you think you're so smart why don't you try losing less than that.

I agree, looks like they could have done better

Still months of cardio for both ahead. They have >20% fat

good job though

Dude was over 300 pounds. At those kind of weights he could have lost 50+ pounds in the first 3 months with some real effort.

His diet was sub optimal to say the least.

Also his workouts were feeble. Plus his posture is fooked and I would have been working on fixing that nasty upper thoracic neck hump he has before it eventually fuses or gives him major issues.

But again, he completed the bet and lost a lot of weight so can't fault him for that. He is certainly in a better position than he was a year ago.

It's one guy who is quite clearly trolling for a reaction. Wp for biting.

Can't even have an opinion without Staples fanboys accusing of 'hating'.
