Ill save you the troubles.. Jungleman seemingly got screwed but eventually agreed on a settlement. Tom seemed to of insisted the penalties he paid were downpayments.. Challenge is over, Jungle is the winner.

Will the people that lost betting on Dwan now pay what they owe? There were some chunky bets flying around on here at the time.

this would go as well as when people sold their FTP balances for pennies on a dollar and then suddenly had a full amount in their bank accounts years later

For someone who's won a lot of money in poker, Jungleman sure has a hard time explaining things clearly.

Haha yeah, I would imagine so - but the winners should be able to rightfully collect now imo if they didn't settle at the time.

From what I remember an "nvg superstar" (Dwan) owed him 7 figures. I think he mentioned it during the Joey Ingram podcast 6 years ago.

fasho, but Bob 100% tweeted something in the last few weeks, specifically naming Dwan and saying he didn't think he was ever getting paid

Tim Dawn should get some sleep instead of thinking up Starbucks commercials, that's what I think.

Wasn't there a time stretch (of like uh 6 years?) where Tom kept saying he was too busy to play any hands cause the games in Macau were so good? Lol.

Pretty weird how he had to pay in installments and took over a deacade to pay oue the sidebet alone and kinda tarnished his reputation since he was heralded as some 2p2 hero before.

Surely if the games were so good, and you were already playing .5/1k on FTP you'd be good for this amount.

I'm pretty sure the FTP downfall wrecked Tom to a good extent. He prolly got a fat salary and freerolls by Fulltilt. But once it was gone, he realized the stakes are a bit too high vs jungle, already being down a large amount.
Just speculating obv

so, after watching recent PLO streams from HCL I realized something

Tom Dwan:
- only plays live
- hosts private games in casinos
- great table presence, vips love to play with him
- makes some very questionable plays, especially preflop, but the game is all the better for it
- noone knows his finances, but is likely staked, possibly in debt at some point
- wins a lot at HCL streams

...is Dwan the new JRB?

5th bullet point is awesome. You start with nobody knows and then contradict that with verbiage of "likely staked".

When I watched Dwan when he first burst on the scene he was the most awkward socially incompetent person I had seen (and that's coming from me). Pretty awesome that he's considerably improved in this area, he's a totally different person now

Remember like 6 years ago when Tom was engaged to some girl, and she was dragging him around to like petting zoos and fancy dinners taking pics.

I guess that fell through? Did he ever talk about it? It was somewhat public, he'd post on Twitter about his fiance etc

Dwan is so much better a player than JRB though. Even if his finances are also a bit tight. I don't think Dwan is hurting for cash, even if his net worth might not be over like 3-4M.

No idea on his or JRB net worth though.
