if you watch very closely you could see Mr. Phua monitoring Tom from distance and counting down on the daily recess time

Some of you guys come off as so holier-than-thou with these posts. Some people enjoy degening it up in vegas from time to time. No big deal.

If we're going to glean anything from this picture about Tom, it's that he's probably doing quite well financially to be playing nosebleeds in the pit. It would be pretty stupid for someone of his relative fame to do that with your backers money when you know there's a decent chance some ******* will take a picture of you.

Why do people spend thousands of dollars, sometimes tens of thousands of dollars, on golf clubs, lessons, country club memberships.

iirc Tom said in ~2010 that if a hotel room costs < $200/night he wouldn't stay in it. Dude likes to waste money. Who cares?

From what I remember he grew up with money next to the normal person. $200 isn't much in that context.

+1

Looks like 5K chips in the rack of 20 and 1K chips (looks to be about 6-7 chips) so he is having ~107K in front of him and probably a lot more on the bets.

People need to realized that it is not 2009 and he is in his 30s.

My biggest takeaway from the photo is that, if I tried, I'm not sure I could get a t-shirt to get that wrinkled on purpose.

$200 for a millionaire? It isn't that much, especially today. It gets you normal/good hotel room in a busy European city these days.

I guess 10 years ago It was a bigger amount.

That really wasn't my point as I obviously realize $200's not much to him. My point was the refusal to stay in anything else just because he wants to blow money so I don't see it as shocking that he takes -ev spots.

Speaking from experience? Personal or professional?

This is poker forum and it blows my mind that people here still dont know why High Stakes Pros love craps.

The reason is it has the lowest advantage for any casino game. Depending on the casino its usually 0.2 to 0.002% advantage for the casino if you bet pass/dont pass only.

So basically its free fliping.

That's a logical fallacy. You did not answer as to whether or not you were speaking from personal experience, which, if you could read properly, the latter question was contingent upon that first prompt. Additionally, you made a statement:

You typically only see this combination in people who are heavy drug addicts and/or suffering from severe mental illness.
This is also interesting because you then claimed your statement was:

I never claimed to know the reality of the situation. I purposely limited my comments to how I perceive him. You interpreting this as backtracking further demonstrates your poor reading comprehension.
The above statement is demonstrably false because you made a statement that included no indication about your complete lack of evidence. In the medical community your opinion would constitute the lowest quality of evidence. In the poker community your statement would truly constitute back-peddling.

This has been fun. Thanks for being bad at communication.

I never claimed that Tom IS habitually depriving himself of sunlight, sleep, water, and exercise. I purposely said that he looks similar to someone with these habits. I wholeheartedly agree with you that in the medical community my opinion would constitute the lowest quality of evidence. I wasn't attempting to build a case or speak as an authority on this matter. I'm simply a layman who was sharing an opinion. Me saying that Tom looks bad is just as meaningless as anyone else in this thread saying Tom looks good.

I should have said, "I've only seen this combination in people who are heavy drug addicts and/or suffering from severe mental illness, neither of which I'm claiming Tom is."

Edit: I apologize for my imprecise speech, thank you for pointing this out, and providing me an opportunity to clarify my comments.

I heard this wacky legend of people who go to these buildings where games slightly favor the house and they use real money to play them as recreation.

I never saw this with my own eyes but this pic proves it must exist.
