Is the home poker forum really the place to post a story about an "illegal gambling, sports betting and loan sharking enterprise controlled by the Luchese Organized Crime Family." I'm not too sure that many of the hosts here can relate to this.

They have to get rid of the Italian mobsters who are getting in the way of the mobsters that run our country.

Whoa. I call one of these indicted people all the time to ask where the newest game in town is being played.. I should probably not call his cell number for a while unless I want to get on some watch list..

Nope not breaking any laws. In fact now is a good time to start up a game as side business. Just be sure to file all the proper paperwork at your town hall. And check with your Chamber of Commerce or accountant to see if you can qualify for any investment tax credits.

Good Luck.

i understand why the sarcasm is a bit warranted but I thought people who run poker only clubs just get shut down and no jail time... maybe pay some small fines or w/e. If you could elaborate on this either by PM or here with maybe a link/article to something id appreciate it

Well, the games that are hosted in nyc are considered home games. Or at least TT considers them homegames and he regulates the forums. I myself woulda put it in B&M forum.

I guess it is up to the officers in charge at the time but the people running the games usually get a disturbing the peace summons. Nothing to serious. I think the people are being busted primarily for the sport booking. And who knows what goes along with it.

I don't think it is much new news to poker players, this isn't about a change in the handling of poker games in nyc. It is more of interest to people here who play since a lot of these guys have been around in the scene for a long time.
