And that hating, clueless nit Hellmuth will be on suicide watch after Pius wins it. I luv it.

His recent post history is impressive. It's like there's a prop bet where he has to come off as miserable and douchey as possible in all his posts.

Pius all the way............the kid is just sick. Staszko would get destroyed by either head up so hopefully it's lamb and pius head up.

Gianetti needs to lose the gf, she's dead weight and bad luck.

Ben Lamb is going to win.

Hopefully this time I don't fall off the stage on national TV.

they're all good players, none of them are relatable, american and german poker booms already happened and players from eastern europe seem to become very good very fast so meh go heinz tho, he played awesome yesterday

Anyone but Staszko. Not that I think his game is bad he is just an absolute stiff. He would be utterly forgettable.

Max Heinzelmann will win the ME before Lamb does.

Tomorrow you and that whale can start the D.I.R.T.B.A.G. self-help group (Dominated Ina Real Tornament By A German)

There are a bunch of idiots posting in these threads. I can't decide if they're reasonably intillegent people caving into mob mentality or just a legitimate pack of babbling idiots.

OP, I don't like how you started a seemingly unbiased thread then forced your opinion down everyone's throat.

To the people calling Lamb a luckbox, take a second and actually think about it before your fingers hit the keyboard. He's an excellent player, obviously.

This tournament has been basically a standard Sunday Million 30bb shove fest except everyone tanks for 10 minutes on each decision and the payouts are 40 times higher.

Comming to conclusions on peoples skillset based on play this shallow over such a small sample is meaningless. Everyone knows this NVG just have this weird capability to pull statements about poker play out of their asses and throw them around whenever they see fit only to contradict themselves 5 minutes later in another thread.

Fwliw I think a heads up matchup between Lamb and Heinz poses more entertainment value than any other combination.

Final hand: even stacks, they get it in pre, heinz flops quads and lamb runners a royal.

Staszko would be great. He's the anti-douche.

Unassuming middle aged guy wearing no patches, likes chess, wearing maybe $30 worth of clothes, no hoody, no sunglasses, and a look on his face like he has no clue what is going on around him. Also appears to be guzzling Red Bull like it is his job.

Just out of curiosity, anyone else think Ben Lamb is a dead ringer for Tintin? Either the original, or the movie actor, kind of odd. Keep expecting to see Captain Haddock in his routing section.

Just out of curiosity, whats the chance the 3 made a deal? the 2 only guys know, that its best to eliminate at least some of the variance at this point, right?

obviously just speculations, but

Pretty rare situation where all 3 deserve it and I'd be happy to see any of them win. All good guys

staszko just very well might be the best player left in the final 3

In a tournament with really high blinds and relatively little room for manuevering in relation to the blinds:

One player wins two largish flips and gets a big lead and is able to apply pressure to the shorter stacks expertly.

Another player plays a huge pot with his opponent dominated and loses, crippling him and forcing him to play a strategy that is less than ideal. He picked his spots to make a stand and ran into better hands but won.

Yes, Heinz played really well, and Lamb got his chips in behind a couple times but a sample size of one final table with average stack being like 40 BBs makes analyzing who is the better player or who really played better difficult and a little silly. Who would have played better if Heinz had lost his first coin flip or if Lamb's AQ had held up?

I'm just looking forward to the final 3, and think a Lamb Heinz heads up battle would be pretty fun to watch.

Not that my expert prognostication (i.e. wild ass guess) is better than anybody else's, but I'm going to pick Martin Staszko to win it all.

Ben Lamb is tough, but I have this eerie feeling that he's going to get it in bad one time too many. If it boils down to Heinz versus Staszko, I'll take Staszko.

1. Martin Staszko
2. Pius Heinz
3. Ben Lamb

Regardless of how it turns out, nobody can say that this one was boring or anticlimatic. ESPN did a good job of covering the final table. Also, I don't think we've seen the last of Matt Gianetti. That young man is destined to become a familiar face at a lot of final tables.

Why the **** do they have to take so long for every simple decision ? Makes me want to go there and just call the clock at the start of every hand. Lets see I have 9 2 under the gun let me think 3 minutes before folding

Yeah, its becoming annoying.

Obviously dont make rash plays, but I think its done most of the time now, because its in fashion!

Go Staszko.

give them a break...

they play for millions and if they want to take the same time every time to make a decision to not give away timing tells they have the right to do so.

if that was some random tourney obv call the clock on the idiot if it annoys everyone.

Absolutely concur and I don't think it's even close.

Again, not that Staszko doesn't seem like a nice guy, but he's the least entertaining from a spectator/television perspective of the three.
11-08-2011 , 11:10 AM
Staszko is one of the most down to earth guys I've met in poker, very smart and very deceiving (he's very aggressive and an crushes online), I do understand that he doesnt have the mass appeal tho

SGT RJ - well apparently he's been sick with high fever the last few days

With that said, they are all great players and seem like cool guys, so may the best win
