Speaking of bolded. Can't this be said about anybody that has won the main event in recent years? Cada sucked out a number of times on the final table with under pairs. That's just one example but I'm sure those of you with better memories than me can come up with quite a few more.

In other words if we're going to hate on Benba for being a luckbox, something we all wish we were ourselves, then we pretty much have to hate on every other main event champ also.

to be at the FT of a 7k man donkaments, they're all luckbox at this point imo.
Lamb just had more TV coverage than others

Fair play you're from Holland, but England owned half the world so we win

Staszko because he seems like a weird guy.

Def luck has to be on your side, Gianetti was no doubt playing more solid than him and lost, that's poker. I just know that Ben could've played better than he did yesterday.

Ok i'll start. They all have sucked for like a decade.

Rooting against Ben b/c it seems like NVG really ready to deify this guy just for running hot this year (standard for NVG). Go other two!

I hope so. Would be good for Heinz to have the weak player on the left.

Ben Lamb isn't like the others. He's more like Ivey than Cada. As in he's gone deep several times.

Hasn't Cada not even cashed in WSOP since he won?

I think the Giannetti hatred stems from the fact that he is very good looking and quiet, so people assume he is a cocky jerk.

I have no idea if he is a jerk or not, but he did handle his beats well imo, and I didnt hear an once of trash talk from him.

If he was dorky looking, his silence would have made him seem like an underdog and more would have been rooting for him - kind of like how I am now rooting for Staszko.

I want Lamb to win b/c he definitely needs the money. Not so sure about the other 2.

I'm def for Heinz he deserves the title , played very well in the first part of the final table

People have selective memory itt. When the ME was 12-handed, Heinz was all in w/ KJ v. AK. So, Heinz sucking out 12-handed makes him a brilliant, all skill, no luck player, but Lamb sucking out 5-handed (after shoving PF w/ hands too good to fold given his stack size) makes him a donk?
11-07-2011 , 10:35 PM
And Ben Lamb took some beats himself.

If you have played tournament poker you've not only taken hundreds or thousands of beats like this, but you've dealt them out too. It's part of the game. That's why you're supposed to be rolled 150 buy-ins and **** for mtts. Luck matters in tournament poker, especially the ME. Christ, how else would Jamie Gold, Jerry Yang, and Moneymaker have won?
11-07-2011 , 10:48 PM
Did I hear the announcers right last night when they said Lamb played about 100 hours per week his first few years playing poker???

and what evidence do you have that Lamb NEEDS the money?

Staszko (sp?) . . . just to be a contrarian.

Cannot root for someone with the same name as a condiment.

Cannot root for someone with the same name as an entree.

cool write-ups.. i love the contrast between Lamb's and Staszko's /careface approach unlucky he got ill just before the ft.. also nice of Lamb to give him credit

Its a joke watching the obese guy, Lamb, suckout and fold the best hand repeatedly. I would hate to guess how far above EV this fattie ran all summer. Who would want to see him win more? Matt was/is a far superior player.

Gianetti

Lamb

Gianetti is certainly no fish, but "far superior" to Lamb? No.

Rooting for Heinz here. I think he and Gianetti played the best at this table.
