Bitcoins have more volatility - for now - but that can be completely negated by using www.bitpay.com . Sites can convert Bitcoins to USD instantly, and they will save money over the traditional processors by using Bitcoins.

Might be a dumb question, but will Canadians continue being allowed to send/receive money from foreign skrill accounts which are permitted to transact with gambling sites? For the purpose of swaps, obv.

lol I think there is HST on the actual transaction fees when dealing with Canadian transactors though.

Quick note, I did not get a call back from their CEO. He'll call me though, I'm sure of it.

I will also be seeing him in mid-Janurary, so at least expect an update by then.

Highly doubtful, they won't accept anything after today, and Lock is fairly slow

Sorry, I guess my reply was wrong, but lock is still slow. AFAIK Skrill still accepts withdrawals from poker sites until Jan 30.

Just go to your branch and ask for all of these details, most will have a sheet with them printed out, and if some of the terms do not match ask them which is which.

What happens when these people want to cash out, as I assume they will want bitcoins again at that time and the rate could be quite a bit different by then. Will bitcoiners be happy if they are forced to cashout in US funds (instead of bitcoins), because if they are then that would make it easier for the sites to manage the volatility since there would be none on their end.

Even if all of the volatility falls on the player, the market may still not have a need for this product for this industry anyway as nonbitcoiners may not be that interested in learning the ways of bitcoins just to deposit to a site when they can use instadebit or a credit card, so it comes down to how much additional business this product would generate.

Time to end the bitcoin diversion.

The currency between the payment processor and the poker site is largely irrelevant. Up until now, you could transfer between your bank and Skrill and between Skrill and many poker sites in many currencies, including CAD. If both Skrill and the poker site decided to add support for bitcoins, Canadians would still not be able to transfer bitcoins between Skrill and the poker sites.

The issue is about the willingness of processors to serve Canadian gambling transactions. A processor that supports bitcoin may choose to serve these transactions, or they might not. Their decision isn't driven by the currency being used.

I was under the impression that we would be able to deposit to sites until January 2nd, but it appears the option has been removed from Stars/FTP :/

After some Googling I think the sort code field is in the format: 0 + XXX + YYYYY, where XXX is your bank's three-digit institution number and YYYYY is your branch transit number. Apparently you also want to have a leading zero in front of everything to designate Canada as the country, I believe.

I ran into this issue as well... Said screw it and requested a cheque instead. I received it in a week which was pretty impressive.

just contact your bank, ask for manager, read them the list of codes or #s the site asks for to wire and ask them for each one

Have any instadebit users had their bank accounts shutdown/any complaints whatsoever?

A Swift and Sort Code are basically the same, you should only need one.

The Bank Code or Institution Code will be 3 digits and the Branch code will be 5.

The Bank/Institution, Branch and Account numbers will all be on a cheque if you have one, at the bottom. The numbers at the bottom will be AAA-XXXXX-YYY-ZZZZZ

A- Cheque Number
X- Branch Number
Y- Bank/Institution
Z- Account number

I don't know about Skrill but in order to send a Wire you should also need the Receivers Name and Address as well as the Banks Name and Address where your account is at.

I'm a banker that used to work on that side if you have any other questions.

Has anyone tried Entropay?

It seems like it should be a good choice other then the higher cost.

Vig seems pretty gross but an option nonetheless. Interested in opinions on entropay and instadebit. Particularly any problems with your bank.

I received an email reply to my inquiry to Entropay. They told me 3.95% fees to transfer funds. 7k max per card. 20 cards per premium account. 20k deposit per 30 days. 60k withdrawals per 30 days.
