that's his FB status

Some scum bag is sat there right now constantly trying to hack my account! keep getting emails saying ur password has been changed.Pretty funny really how desperate these rats are....
After that some one hacked his bank account and the hacker withdraw some money. (Fortunatelly, the bank refunded Sam's stolen money).

I am a bit worried. I dont have balla bankroll, but still I dont want to lose it. How to protect yourself from hacking your poker account it's clear (tokens, passwords, anti-virus programs, etc.) But how can I protect from hacking my bank account? There are no tokkens and if someone have access to my bank account he can withdraw pretty much everything to anybody in just a seconds.

This is a fantastic question that has never been covered here.

In the UK most banks rolled out the RSA style tokens as a result of FSA regulation, so chances of getting hacked is pretty small if the hacker doesn't have access to it/obtaining another.

Find a bank that provides a token for online banking and move your money there ASAP.

RSA tokens for personal accounts are maybe the smartest idea, but i believe it works only in UK. At least i think (could be wrong) only HSBC offers RSA tokens. There are HSBC branches in my country, but here they do not offer RSA tokens.

So now I have one computer only for playing poker, one for browsing, one for watching movies and music and I have to buy one more- for online banking

Strong passwords
Malware-free computer

should be enough in 99% of the cases.

Find a bank that offers you more security than the basic username/password. Anything really.

My bank always sends me a confirmation SMS to my mobile with a confirmation code that I need to enter. So besides hacking my e-bank account, they will also need my mobile phone to rob me.

That's sound good. My bank sends me a SMS after the transaction, to tell me that I withdrew some money or someone already robbed me.

i'll go to check what the other banks can offer me.

Most good malware will never be detected or at least not until it's too late. My advice, any pro that's making decent money should buy a Mac/Macbook and never click links in emails.

lol that it's come to people trusting their poker funds more than bank funds.

I'm not saying anything regarding bank security, etc. but the premise is hilarious.

Bank accounts are targeted more often simply because more people have bank accounts than poker accounts.

That's not to say one is safer than the other, rather one is more scrutinized by people with malicious intent simply because of the prevalence of bank accounts.

Of course the old saw is "Why do you rob banks?" "That's where the money is"

Yes, but my reading of the OP suggests that the premise is: I know my online poker funds are safe and secure, but I don't think banks are.

Banks have a substantial investment in safety and security, a lot more than any online poker site. I know (in the US at least) there are several scenarios where a bank is liable for fraudulent activity conducted in an account, but as far as I know you're at the mercy of the poker site when something goes wrong with your account.

In the UK, I know Natwest has a card reader and you need it for any online transaction.

UBS has the same thing (In switzerland at least).

I was just reading an article this morning about how some malware is being programming to infect mobiles in order to steal the code the bank send you, with a pc based version of the malware communicating with the mobile device. Sounds a slightly unlikely scenario to me, but still...

The untrue bit was that the FSA has told banks to use particular security hardware.
