meh, sucks to be you if you don't get it. Mikey supposedly did that to tilt Teddy.

LOL, I also thought it was that before....

So hey, who has seen any of the deleted scenes or the alternate ending on the new dvd release? I was just curious what it was.

I remember 3 months or so ago saying Mike dies at the end, but I am pretty sure that was a pile of BS :P

The OP has no life. Only thing I found funny about this post, was he actually wasted his time to point out what we all know. It's a movie bro, just enjoy it for the great movie it is.

Just so everyone knows Teddy had 1010 on that last hand. Top set. He thought he was pulling Mike right in for the kill. Don't believe me? I've seen the video replayed in slo motion where he mucks his hand in anger, slamming it on the table, and the 1010 can be seen!

I'm still finding it pathetic someone analyzed a poker movie to this extreme. Am I the only one on this train?

oh, it was terrible. terrible story line, acting, and poker play. all i'm saying was that the poker they showed was a little more accurate than rounders' 20x bb raises and 5x pot size bets

a little pathetic. OP kind of just ruined that classic final scene for me. now instead of thinking about mike's "brilliant play", i'll be thinking about how weak his play actually would've been in real life. i hate when people mix movies with reality...

It doesn't ruin it for me. So what if Mike raised that much preflop? Maybe in his mind he was making a statement to KGB, "I'm here to play, and I'm here to gamble, let's go!" Of course KGB at the same time could've said to himself "Who does this kid think he is, I won't be bullied around by such a ridiculous overbet/raise and repopped!"

I think the scene kind've set up that these two were there to gamble and play some real poker. God, now I've turned into the OP. ****ing great.

Actually I take that back, I like my analysis. The OP's analysis is out of whack and down right horrible. Please tell me you only play poker for fun OP, please please please. You assume way too much in your post which is a sign of a weak poker player to begin with.

lol this thread is funny in kind of a "little kid explaining in great detail to his parents how he knows Santa clause doesn't exist cute" kind of way.

So I won't.

Its a friggin movie. I can't believe you spent 2 hours writing about this scene.

String bets, tells, blah blah blah.

Let me guess.....

You wear shades, a hoodie, listen to an ipod, endlessly riffle your chips when contemplating a bet, take 2 minutes to fold when you have no intention of calling, and drink 10 Red Bulls a day.

You're an easier read than Mike.
lol qft

That aside, Rounders was a huge factor in me taking poker beyond casual friendly gambling.
You are incorrect sir.... After he folds Teddy says "the f*** you lay that down?!? You should have paid me off that time..." looks at mike then at his cookies. KGB then throws them off the wall, at which point Mike says "not hungry?". Then KGB says lets play some cards or soething. Just correcting the order.

Maybe Mikey thought putting Teddy on tilt is more EV than having a tell that shows you when your opponent has a monster?

Also, if you think this movies' poker is bad, then you haven't seen Cincinnati Kid,where they play 5 card stud and McQeen's aces full loses to a straight flush.

Some of the most underated lines in that movie:

worm: "I know your just talking about pierogi's and snow and s***, but if you want to see the river your gonna quit talking f***ing sputnick!";

Taki: "What did you think he had? Does he look like a man beaten by jacks?"
Zizzo: "Jacks are a monster compared to the crap you've played!";

Worm: "Now, what did I ever do to that guy?"
Mike McDermott: "You f***** his mother."
