this is a live poker thread I have come to understand, and I was underaged before online gambling was an option.
I still see myself as very old school as I followed the series I Like To Move It with sbrugby when it first came out

Remember when all of Party's NLHE games had a max buy-in of 50bbs and PLO was 40bbs.

Spoiler:
People still all bought in too short.

Before Holdem was Legal in California - only lowball & high draw

Cowboy Wolford & Bill Smith

The toughest public game in the country was the 20-40 limit game at Binions hosted by Johnny Moss

Sissy & Bottoms

When Mike Sexton was the first corporate sponsored player - always wearing something with "Le Mode" logo

When Tom McEvoy lost his WSOP main even win to phony stamps and crooked backgammon

Archie Karas' $15m win/loss at Binion's crap table

Free Seafood buffet w/lobster at Binion's for WSOP

When you could smoke, drink, say f*** and show cards as you pleased at the table

Jack

Remember all of the above except the McEvoy story. Any additional info/reference on that?

I'm so old school I have DUIs older than some of the recent WSOP ME champs, and have gone on binges longer than some of their entire addictions.

I think I recall the show Padraig Parkinson co-hosted (was it with Jesse May?). Seem to remember a putting challenge.
Agree on the youtube stuff.

Think that show was from the 2005 WSOP, there's also a drunken interview with me from Jesses Irish 4th July party from that show that thankfully never saw the light of day.

I remember spending months googling to find Abdul Jalib's real identity, then forgetting it after my computer crashed.

Worst memory, other than the bad beats, at a poker table is the hour I wasted on Google the first time I saw "R.I.P. Doyle Brunson"

Sitting up late in the Binion's snack bar talking with Abdul and the late Andy Morton (he of "Morton's Theorem" fame).

I've played in mostly smaller rooms, the limit games died years ago.
