Really, how old school are you? Really, how old school are you?

The Mike Caro thread made me think of some ancient poker stuff. Let's see how many pre boom players are still lurking.

Do you remember:

Gary Carson

Abdul Jalib

"Over Buttons"

GCA. Extra points if you had a strong opinion.

Shut up and Deal, by Jesse Maye

Smoking at the table.

Never playing AJs for a raise.

A single blind game

How bad Daniel's drinking problem was.

Rambo

"Fit or Fold"

Razzo.

Just a few memories.

Remember when flopping an over with a backdoor gutter and backdoor flush draw was called

"missing the flop"

when Phil Hellmuth threw the ace of spades at Sam Grizzle showing the nut flush like a hardcore gangster in a small pot at the WSOP

I recall ultimate bet having some sort of mini mode where you could make the tables like an inch tall and they were just a bar across your screen. It was amazing.

I remember the days of looking at my FTP cashier and actually believing the money there was mine.

So young and foolish.

I don't even remember what I did yesterday, but somehow I just know I was born decades too late.

Most of the above brings back allot of memories. The GCA posts provided so many hours of reading entertainment here and on the old rgp. I even had that sh***y video he sent out to anyone who would take it back in the day RIP Russ.

Prahlad vs Green Plastic, Joe Buttons and anyone else who would sit at that 25/50 table also provided hours of great railing. I distinctively remember being so amazed at the massive amounts of cash in that game, at least at the time it was massive.. not so much by the pre-BF standards of recent years.

I remember all of that stuff in the op. I've been around a lot longer than my register date. I've even played live poker with Gary Carson at the now washed away Gulfport Grand.

Sure wish I remembered some of that stuff. But nah... I got in late with the rest of the masses. Missed the golden age of ipoker, but at least I didn't miss experiencing Pokerstars. I miss you, man.
