Yeah I agree too, if the guy ran free for this long why would he stop now? Maybe he is finally thinking straight and wanting to give back what little he can by turning himself to ensure this deal goes through...

OP is the best OP of all time.

If true we were the first to hear about. I love 2+2. NVG delivers.

the thing about "monthly salaries"...this doesn't mean ftp payouts right?

i know for a fact that upon approval of releasing funds there is a max wait period of 90 days (but no min). this was a DOJ stipulation for closing the deal with bernard tapie.

An FTP bod is facing the legal music, but nobody from PS is?
07-02-2012 , 12:54 PM
why isn't this info taken to cardplayer/pokernews/bluff or even lv sun, Washington post etc instead it's on the nvg forum on 2+2?
07-02-2012 , 12:55 PM
This is a great opportunity for us all to NOT ... wait for it ....

Obviously any deal the DOJ would make with PS or FTP or PS AND FTP, however the negotiations are going, would include certain people facing charges in the US. Since Bitar is very high up the foodchain him giving himself to the US has to be of huge strategic importance in the negotiations to finalise a deal. I don't think PS/PS+FTP would actually give Bitar to the US before the deal was a done deal, as it obviously means they would have less negotiating power.

This is jumping to conclusions on both counts. We don't know if Isai Scheinberg is also on a flight to NYC, I'd guess he is as well. We don't know if either of them are facing legal music or simply sitting down for a jam session together before the bands amicably break up.

Agreed that it would be strange and unlikely for criminal procedures to be dropped for one, but not the other, simply because the other (Isai Scheinberg) paid a civil settlement.

Simply put, we don't know who is facing what, when, or where.

I think thats one of the deals for this to go through.... was the only person facing legal action was the owner of PS but part of the deal is he will just step down and not face legal action?

Fulltilt still has paid staff? What do they do everyday? Turn up and drink tea?

How on earth could someone convince Ray Bitar, a rich guy who's safe from extradition (I believe), to turn himself in? He could have lived out the rest of his life in (relative) freedom with loads of money, yeah? Could it be true he does actually want to see players paid back? Could it be true he does actually have a conscience?

If the deal closes and is announced imo non-USA people can expect their money reasonably fast, it's PS afterall. The salaries are simply necessary to "keep FTP running" until the deal actually closes I think, sounds silly right now but FTP needs to keep running, and salaries are necessary for that.

So obviously the guarantee of an additional month of salaries by PS doesn't mean it's a done deal, but combined with everything else we know it's reason enough to be optimistic imo .

insta 2k viewers on nvg...how does it spread so fast..amazing

I'm not jumping to conclusions; I'm merely asking a question based on the OP.

What bad news!

Ray has been working so hard for so long to get everyone paid back and now he's out of the picture.

Multiple sources have stated that Ray Bitar is the only one from the BoD of FTP who was working his ass off to get players their money back. Obviously we will never know if this is true and obviously it doesn't mean we should all be forgiving towards him, but it's something.

What should this monday be called? Also, I guess it's true that good news is released on mondays.
07-02-2012 , 01:04 PM
I'm sure Bitar's lawyer when through his letter to the staff with a fine tooth comb. Even if the deal is 99.9% done he'd be an idiot to announce anything before the DOJ and Stars announces it.
