Does anyone know how he died?

He went to a game Thursday night and there was no seat open so instead of waiting he went home. He laid on the couch, started having chest pains and had a massive heart attack. He went to the gym 4-5 days a week and played basketball against 20 year olds 1-2 times a week. He are healthy for the most part. Someone so actively healthy having a massive heart attack surprised everyone.

He also smoked a lot of weed daily so I'm wondering if that had something to do with his heart. I have no idea on the effects of weed in regards to clogging arteries.

Thank you for posting this, OP. I never realized that Joey Knish was based on one real player. Sounds like he was truly a great guy. I'm sorry not to have known him.

Bagels was a history nut. He was always reading at the tables and loved to discuss anything you wanted to talk about. From the stupidest minute thing to current events to sports. The guy was great. He would always give advice like an uncle or grandfather. And he was a sharp player.

I played 30/60 OE with Bagels a bunch of times. He always took my money with a smile. Good guy.

I tried calling you a few times, but your phone goes straight to voicemail still. With your "What's up?" greeting. I'm hoping it's just a bad dream. However, you have not picked up the phone yet and your mailbox is full because you're too old school to know how to text or use your voicemail. Standard crappy flip phone.
