Pretty strong first post. We'll have to watch your career here on 2+2 and decide, good guy or villain?

I have found that most players who are d#$@! at the tables are bullies and they generally attack dealers because there is no repucusion. I am good at my job, and when a player has a melt down because he just got rivered for the 2nd time, don't try and take it out on me. Maybe that saying that I keep hearing that "if you don't like dealing with crap go do something else"should apply to sore loser players as well as dealers

Wasn't Matusow a dealer at first? Different perspective.
Yes, Matusow started as a dealer, as did Cindy Violette. I believe someone related a story earlier in the thread re Cindy being especially nice to dealers -- methinks this may be a big reason why.

Aaron Katz didn't seem like a bad person when I played with him, he seemed quite nice to the players and dealers. David Singer was the most miserable player I have ever seen he yelled at almost every dealer about some minor rule, or aspect of their dealing technique, and when people congratulated about his WPT win the week before he didn't even smile or acknowledge most of them.

These pros that abuse dealers made me think of the following dialogue from 'Reservoir Dogs'.... (with about the same moral fiber of the crew in Dogs...)

Mr. Pink: You kill anybody?
Mr. White: A few cops.
Mr. Pink: No real people?
Mr. White: Just cops.

Not always the case. Scott Fishman (former dealer) is horrible and berates dealers and has publicly told players not to tip them at all in any situation. Tuan Lam (sp), 2nd place 07, is a former dealer and was wonderful to deal to, he also made a point of tipping the dealers and floor staff extra.
I forgot to mention Greg Raimer. He is probably the SWEETEST guy I have dealt to. Always pushing in the bets that I couldnt reach and telling the players to be nice to the dealers. Plus he is just pleasant to have at the table.
Now dont start flippin out just because the word "tip" was used.

Surprised no one has yet mentioned Mimi Tran, when she is losing she does all the BS tricks, throw cards away from the dealer so they have to reach to get them, swear at them in multiple languages, etc.

Sebok actually guessed Mimi to be on the list, although he did say he hoped she wasn't.

Sad. We are talking about pros. Berating the dealer is totally unprofessional.

I've noticed recently that dealers are either young or old, or somewhere in between.

Bottom line, tipping is not required but you absolutely should do it, at least in line with normal societal standards.

People who grill dealers because of running bad or ohter such nonesense are just cry baby pussies who lean on the non confrontation environment so that they can play out their tough guy fantasies.

They also usually don't come from very good families. Take a look at the lists of the all time worst dealer abusers and you will see a pretty good example of what I mean. J.P. and Puggy Pearson were just basically ****kicker Tenesee Hillbillies, how could you expect them to have good manners?

Stu Ungar grew up the son of a loanshark and around street guys. Not exactly finishing school.

I don't even want to mention the scores of Asian boat people (Chan, Men, etc.) who have no concept of proper Western social mores.

The Arab contingent along with Greeks are brutal too. They are used to demeanikng women and sulking. Have you ever met a more spoiled person than the first son of a Greek Or Middle Eastern family? So no suprise about sheikan or farha or archie.

Anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant in a major Eastern City can comment about our Semitic friends.

Chip Reese. Ohio, Dartmouth, upper middle class. Good manners. What a shock.

LEt see how long till I'm banned.

This post is much worse than taking head off ******s.

He's saying that he may be banned because his post may be seen as racist, but that David Sklansky's actions are ok. (That's my guess; I'm not agreeing with any of it)

I haven't read all the responses but most dealers at the Bellagio will tell you they hate dealing to JC Pearson (Puggy's brother) more than just about anyone.

Bellagio dealers have nothing to complain about, imo. Commerce dealers on the other hand...

only problem with Mike is the more excited he is the louder he gets ~ dealers hate having him in the 1 seat or 8 seat cause they go def - with that said he is a friend to the dealers and is always willing to help them out if they miss something

I think in regards to yelling/spitting at dealers, etc., how many times have you cursed at your monitor or broken a mouse? It happens more than a lot would admit, and yeah I know they are inanimate objects, but still, it's easy to lose control. they're all humans too. not that that is an excuse for their behavior. i tape recorded myself during an 8 hour session and I was shocked when I played it back the next day
