Thank you OP for making this. Yes, the last couple weeks have seen DDOS attacks on many major sites. Even so, merge has consistently experienced some of the worst problems of all the sites.
1) Bitcoin fraud scheme where someone hacked the site notifications to get ppl to deposit at a bitcoin address
2) DDOS attack during the 215 Big Ticket and 530 Main event final tables...players affected potentially lost thousands if not tens of thousands.
3) Players inexplicably logging into other players accounts through a bug in the software.
3) Blatant DDOS attacks to help an individual player on the site by disconnecting his opponent mid-hand.
Merge, get your **** together. Yes, other sites are experiencing the similar things, but you are obviously the weakest link.
Insane!!! The Bitcoin hack is very creative. I suppose they tried this on Stars but weren't successful.
I'd like to reference a post from the linked thread:

This implies that such a thing can't happen on PokerStars. Is this true?
It could very well be unrelated, but ive had this happen so much on ftp the latest month. I ping any other site on the internet ok every time. Anyone else?
is this linked in any ways to ipoker/party ddos attacks?
could be the same scheme, just that the guy hasnt been caught on the other network.
If I remember correctly the same suspect played on Party also, and someone in his 'Pokerstars confiscated all my funds' thread mentions he got DC'ed several times when playing against him on Party.
Unless you have 500Gbps+ capacity to the Internet you are going get knocked out at will these days. I guess only Pokerstars has that because surely they have been trying to knocked them offline. Shady operators can hire these services to attack other sites
Only other choice is to use service like Prolexic to filter attack traffic but it might still take a while before they can block a attack that size after they detect it
Well, i hope the youtube account,(witch is probably from sweden too as you can see in his videos) is not making a list of all gmail accounts visiting the fakevideo
