Power move by Amaya. The old "don't mess with us, because we're willing to sue people we know are broke just to prove a point."

Doesn't matter if E-dog is broke. Amaya, with a successful judgement, could encumber his future earnings, etc. until the judgement is satisfied.

Interesting no one's mentioned this yet, but how about all the FTP players who abused the phantom deposit trick? Aren't there rumors (or confirmed rumors) that certain players figured out what was going on and abused it to the tune of mid-five-figures? Are they next...?

(Side Q: I didn't really follow the FTP remissions process, but was FTP reimbursing full balances even to people who technically had "uncollected" phantom deposits?)

Doesn't Phil Ivey also owe FTP a bunch of money, and didn't he refuse to pay stars back when they acquired FTP?

What did Negreanu actually say in regards to Lindgren effectively stealing that 2 million dollars?

Did he defend it?

If so, would he not be bringing himself into disrepute with the company he is the poster boy for? Especially now they're seeking to right these wrongs via the courts.

Interesting how PS couldn't sue anyone in U.S., given it was considered an illegal entity by DOJ/Courts, but now Amaya can.

Guess Haralabob just got knocked back another spot in E-donk's repayment list

I really hope this results in garnished wages for the loser after every score. Make him pay what he owes Amaya!

In fairness, Lindgren wasn't bragging that he had a lot of cash but rather that he made a lot of cash. At the time, he did pull in quite a bit from Full Tilt on a monthly basis.

That he was degening it away in bad sports bets or that two years later the money faucet would be shut off doesn't refute what he reportedly said to Dane Cook.

I Believe greenstein paid back, if not with money, then from his future contract, but again not sure what I'm talking about. If phil didn't pay back thats more sketchy then degengren since presumably phil ivey has plenty of cash.

Friend of mine who used to play poker long ago told me that Lindgren used to be one of the strongest online grinder when online poker started. He was basically living in a small apartment and grinding online full time.

Can anyone confirm this? I just wonder how you can turn this way.

What should he be doing? There is nothing he can do other than this. And I think it's safe to assume he is a winning poker player if he chooses his games good enough. It's not like he can ever pay his loans back flipping burgers.

It does seem weird that one goes back to gambling after being in rehab for gambling, but poker wasn't his downfall. Sportsbetting and other side action is what buried him.

when the tapies wanted to buy ftp (and saw it didn't work out), it went public, that pros owned the company like $19,5 million. But if i'm not wrong, back then, some came forward (like BG) and said they will repay, as soon as the company is operable or the money goes to the players.

anyway ... since PS (other like the tapies), know biz and how to be quit about such stuff, i guess the others paid back already. to my understanding, the lindgren thing was delayed, because he declared bankruptcy.

He will argue that the two million deposited into his full tilt account had zero value when he received it. He will be correct.

no hating, but do you have any valid argument to back up your theory?

imo the only thing that matters, is lindgrens private bankruptcy, and if i'm not wrong, the article on courthouse said that the ftp debts weren't dismissed by the judge

Didn't read thru the thread but how can they sue him when full tilt was a fraudulent company? Doesn't make sense to me. Did he cash out the money? Lol old full tilt.

Just one example, the Madoff funds that were clearly fraudulent and the liquidator sued everyone who gained any benefit.

$2MM of this claim seems to trace back to the Chris Ferguson loan to Lindgren. Howard Lederer explained the circumstances, from his point of view, in his infamous interview, as reported by pocket fives below:

And as for Lindgren, on April 7, one week before Black Friday, Ferguson loaned Lindgren $2 million. Lindgren needed the money on Full Tilt in order to give it to another player. So, the money was transferred to the player in question, who withdrew it.

Lederer lamented, "I have no idea how it happened, but... somehow the message, 'Give Lindgren $2 million,' someone took that to mean give it to him on the site and someone else sent him a wire to his bank account." Consequently, a $2 million loan to Lindgren (pictured) was mistakenly sent twice for a total of $4 million.

Ferguson called Lindgren to reclaim the money and "According to Chris, they straightened it out." However, Lindgren never sent any money back. "I waited for Erick to be knocked out of Main Event," Lederer recalled. "I called him the next day, he answered, and I said, 'Hey Erick, do you remember the extra $2 million?' He said, 'Oh yeah.'"

Lindgren rationalized, "I didn't know I owed it to the company, I thought I owed it to Chris," but allegedly never paid back the money to anyone. "The leverage that the company was going to get out of these dollars to give it extra life and extra time was potentially invaluable to our customers," Lederer stressed.
rofl at the last sentence. Point taken also davmcg. Did Eric declare bankruptcy? Maybe pokerstars can extradite Eric to Singapore. If he is unable to make payment in lieu of payback can give him a good caning. Ivey did similar transactions though Ivey took loans. Sue one sue all imo. TO person who said attatch future earnings probably not if declared bankruptcy especially if that 2 million was listed on the bankruptcy. Just saw a thread dope didn't discharge that debt looks like amyah did their homework. He owes 3.8 mill to irs gonna have to get in line. Time to get the golfclubs out Eric can freeroll golf bets to payoff amyah.
