Erick Lindgren v. Dane Cook
Erick Lindgren and some friends went to a comedy show with Dane Cook as the headliner. Ten minutes into the Dane Cook set Lindgren et. al left the building because they didn't really think that Dane Cook was funny. Dane from the stage, in a large building, says:
"Where the hell are you all going?!?"
"We're leaving because your show sucks and you're not funny," responds Erick.
"Just walk back out that door to the unemployment line!"
"You know what? I am unemployed, have been for a long time, and make more money than you do. If I had my own Showtime special then I might even be funny too."
This is not exaaact dialogue, but pretty close... there's also something in the middle, but my memory is a lil foggy.
Erick is my hero.

And Dane Cook does suck, Lindgren's completely right. Although the joke's sort of on him since he did buy the ticket (I suppose).

Re: Erick Lindgren v. Dane Cook
If this is true, frickin' hilarious. I am a little skeptical though, as it seems odd to me that any comedian would interrupt his own routine because a handful of people were leaving the show, especially to point out that they were leaving the show. What is the upside of that? It isn't like taking some heckler and ripping him/her a new one (which would be necessary to go on with your routine).
Dane Cook is a huge, unfunny db though, so I hope it is true.

Rofl @ the attempt to jab with the "unemployment" line. That guy is an idiot.

Re: Erick Lindgren v. Dane Cook
I've seen Dane Cook's act on video and he was really not funny. Also 'douche' is probably the word I hate the most in the English language but that's pretty much how he seemed there and in that story.

If you're going to be a grammar nit, at least be right. OP was correct.

Re: Erick Lindgren v. Dane Cook
Awesome if true.
Also, that's an odd choice of insult from Dane. Why would he just randomly call someone unemployed, especially given that the person could afford a ticket to his show?

Re: Erick Lindgren v. Dane Cook
So, Dane Cook stole "Get a Job" from G-P, and in classic Dane Cook fashion, ruined it?

Re: Erick Lindgren v. Dane Cook
I don't like either of them, but I'm pretty sure Dane Cook still makes more money than Lindgren and its not even close
