im a rec player, i played the deep water games today and its so much fun compared to zoom or any other current cash formats. If you want rec players to have a good time I think this kind of structure is the way to go.

agreed. it's nice that you can't short buy, but the BI should really be 200bb minimum up to 300bb

I liked power-up as an anti-botting measure, but apparently wasn't popular at all.

Deeper Water is way too shallow. Should be 200-500GB buyin I reckon.

Its annoying they don't release the new formats on all clients...I never got to try power up... Probably also why traffic is not amazing if some countries are missing...

Played a bit of deep water. Unfortunately the format really incentivises limping and then you get raked to death

Apart from that quite fun

Can't take stars seriously if you look at the rake format.

I am interested in the Tempest format. I have a few questions I'm hoping some of of you fine humans can help me out with.

1.) Is this game beatable with the current rake? (You have to account for the extremely bad players flocking to this game atm to sort of nullify the handicap that the rake is giving you) But even so... beatable? If not, what would a beatable rake look closer to? It's at 5% right now if I'm not mistaken

2.) What is a good tool to study push/fold with this format? ( I used to use ICMIZER for sng study, but not sure if such an expensive tool is needed, since the format is so static.) I recently tried to input a tempest hand into ICMIZER but it couldn't read the format. I only get 1 free hand a day and I'm having trouble inputting the antes manually. Surely there has to be a cheaper basic tool where I can just input this format and have 4 different set antes, and play around with ranges etc..?

Thank you, much appreciated.

It is not beatable even with a perfect strategy, can't imagine they would ever lower the rake.

gdsfather,

Thanks for the reply.

So at 5% it is unbeatable like you say. Any idea of what the rake would need to be in order to be +ev?

I assume he's just sharing the fact that there's a couple of players sitting super deep at the table.

When Spins first launched, everyone said they were unbeatable. Then quietly some people started making serious serious money from these games, and a bunch of training sites popped up... and then PS raised the rake because some players were killing it at the tables. Then everyone cried that games were now unbeatable... but today there's still grinders filling the tables.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm not saying that the rake isn't too high - I don't know. But I will say that if the games were really beatable, I certainly wouldn't be going around 2+2 talking about it

It's so easy to say game is not beatable because the rake is too high. Like 6+ is prolly one of the highest raked games and still wery beatable because the players are just so bad.

I quite like Deep Water, and think it is better for action in Holdem

Poker Tracker 4 stopped support deep water. Anybody who have HM2 can confirm that, that one stopped working too?

Oh nice, more rake is better and no flash spins are enough for stars to bankrupt.
