Yeah sounds like JJ. I still chuckle at the story of him telling one of the world's most successful sports bettors how wrong he was in a Rugby World Cup bet. He means well though !

I would love Phil Ivey to go on this just for fun and ask for a stake by saying the same things .

JJ could be a contender for the European Toolbox Title.

I have been watching this serie once in a while but cannot remember the woman's name. JJ didnt necessary make good arguments but neither anyone who questioned him made good points. What ever he is like at the table he definitely did one right thing HE STAYED CALM. Theos speech was disappointing( and that woman as well, at the same time saying I don't understand but LET ME TELL U)

My gf told me I should try to get a steak from the canadian version of dragon's den, but I didn't think they would even consider it...

Maybe you should and take Slansky + other good poker poker players with you. Introduce them being fellow poker players just supporting you. Tell the poker players to be quiet until dragons tell their opinions and then just nail them down.

Would be amazing them to ask questions from dragons and them having no clue how to respond. That would be great. Please do it!

It would be a good battle, but the dragons are pretty unflappable... omg now you got me thinking...

EDIT: I think the key is a solid deal that can't be deemed as "gambling". 33 live donkaments is not a solid investment imo... especially sight unseen

I think youre right. You need to have a solid deal, and after then someone like Slansky to put them down. Even him couldn't defend a bad business plan. You are right about it.

Good point juko. I like your avatar anyway. Did the falling soldier die? It is bothering me a bit. I hope he died for the sake of Capas reputation

Dragon's Den is a Canadian version of Shark Tank where entrepreneurs ask for investment money for part of their company.

This poker player JJ Hazan comes to the Dragon's Den and ask for $65K for portion of his tournament winning. It was pretty funny when these billionaires looked at each other whether to take this guy serious or not..

Anybody enjoying Shark Tank may enjoy this.

Here is the youtube link.

Anybody know who this JJ guy is??

Actually, Dragon's Den was first a UK version, and then a Canadian version, of the Japanese show Money Tigers. A US version called Shark Tank came later.

The giveaway to this being the UK version would be that he asked for pounds, not dollars. Oh, and the accents.

Probably easiest if I just merge this thread into the one that others are referring to, from almost 6 years ago.

Dude needed a stake so he could play the £30 afternoon tournament at the old International Club.

He's probably still playing 1/1 somewhere around London.

There was also a poker staking deal pitched and then accepted/invested into on the Canadian dragons dens. I believe it was the Boston pizza guy and another dragon who invested.

Unfortunately it was never aired

They should get jamie gold onto the show and get him to ask for 2 million as his results since 2006 is over 12 million

It would have been kinda interesting to see how they reacted to this if it was some online crusher that was looking for a stake.. If he provided some sick graphs, winrates and so on and could sell himself and poker well.. It always makes me courious to see how much ''normal'' people actually know about poker and how it´s viewed in the eyes of sharp minds like theese dragons.
