I wish pokerstars had more satelites into tournaments on later days
or later in the week.

I kind of hate playing a satelite for 2 hours or so, then winning a seat
into a tournament that could take 6 hours if I make a deep run.

The only satelites like the ones I want, are usually to SCOOP main events,
or to the big Sunday tournament.

Party Poker has more of what I like with regards to satelites. Wish
Stars was a bit more like Party in this

satellites are the dope party did it quite well (but operated at a loss) I had hoped stars and wsop had more satellites but I was disappointed so I just didn't have enough games so I went back to cash.

satellites effective double the amount of volume you can do (which is needed since its hard to get in good "mtt" sng volumn in Ontario. Say your abi is about 50 bucks your not playing the 530$ highrollers but on party I would play the 5-10 or so 50$ highrollers and I played every highroller without selling action it essentially adds another couple daily 50$ mtt to the pool. Not sure if good for recs but they sure play em I guess there can only be so many tournaments tho.

Oh and the satellites all ran much earlier then the mtts so it gave you something to do and you could save the tickets it was so sick which solves the biggest complaint here (tournaments not running early enough esp on weekend). I had my stable run the satellites from like 2-7 before the mtts started and it was much easier to get a reasonable amount of tables up to make grinding worth your time so you dont have as many spots where your 1 or two tabling some shitty mtt ruining your hourly. Its also super nice for low stakes players you can have just as much chance to win the nightly 100$ while keeping your average buyin more reasonable

Agree totally, and I don't understand why they don't. They ran one type of this sat during ONSCOOP and it was a freeroll, which paid tickets of different values for use during the series. I would play so many more sats if there was more of this flexibility.

ticket system is goat you just win tickets based on buyins it makes way more sense. you have a say to win an 11$ticket 33$ 55$ 109$ etc this is how party does it and people actually did play those satelites so..... You get like a week or two deadline to use em alot of people dont even remember to use em and the site probably makes money just from that alone lol.

When i played on party I pretty much had a 300% roi because every satelite had 150% roi because of overlay, and then every tourney would overlay so I would have 150% roi in the tourney. Probably more then 300% if you count the original satellite buyin. BUt like I said earlier it doubled the amount of sit n gos you can play

If I had a dollar for every time you talked about your winnings - I'd buy directly into all of my tournaments.

Anyone else having issues getting booted mid session (Party) due to location verification?

on wifi, in Ontario. Tried reinstalling/deleting cookies etc.

Emailed support, but I don't expect they'll be too helpful.

It happens to me randomly. The best fix I've found is unplug and re plug the wifi adapter. Also I've found I need the wifi adapter to be plugged into a USB 3.0 port

Good job, people (and Stars)

They say they're going to keep the tournaments in this slot for a couple of weeks as a test

Yes. Although it would be nice if they weren't all $100+ and they had a few more PKOs in there. PKOs are by far the most popular format.

I know, I was exaggerating a bit. But just a bit. Look at all the "new times": half are $100+ and there are only a few below $50.

WSOP is terrible, I hardly play there at all anymore. Their bounty builder series literally has nothing affordable for low stakes players. I'll occasionally play something like the Turbo $10 or the 10.50 deepstack pko and that's it on a Sunday.

Inflation bro. No one wants to grind hours to win $100 when you can barely fill up a tank of gas with that.

All the more reason why many people won't have a bankroll to play $100 MTTs. They're making it extremely difficult for people to start low and work their way up, which will deter many new players. At least offer a decent satellite selection.

This thread feels like it died. It's become a lot less active, did the fish got eaten already or most retired due to X reasons, like running below EV, high rake, etc. Any cash games players who've played between stars/wsop have seen difference in terms of ev/variance/profits?

I'm just a collector-fish at 25nl, but I feel like many of the true donators have left. The reg:fish ratio is worsening imho.

yep thats what happens when you allow 20 tables and 100% rakeback but probably shitty advertisement too

I've played on PokerStars for the last 15 years, was a breakeven player at best. Since the transition I've maintained a decent win rate on PokerStars even with fewer fish at the tables (50NL / 100NL) lately. I don't play big volume probably 5k-15k hands a month.

On the other hand I can't get anything to go my way on WSOP. I've seen more players make quads to beat me in the 30k hands I've played on WSOP than I've seen in the past 15 years on PokerStars. I've seen more players with straight flushes as well, I've even lost to a higher straight flush twice lol. Variance is a bitch.

I've stepped away from WSOP for the time being, but I'm sure I'll give them another shot.
