2) To be precise, it shows taken seats, not number of players

The fish are diminishing online, where online poker is becoming a specific group of poker pros and "pros" sharing each others' profits and losses like recycled garbage back and forth with diminishing ROIS.

Live poker is growing because there will always be the fish that want to gamble and believe that one long marathon of wins validates their greatness at poker. PLO is saving live poker for the higher stakes because it is new (relatively), "more cards yay", and "bigger pots yay". 5-10 nlh and above is now stale as hell.

interesting thought on PLO saving the state of our game. So do you think its necessary/smart for aspiring pros to learn PLO and be just as comfortable with it? Basically, do you see the PLO "boom" as fleeting or something that will stick around for years to come?
