Poker Affiliate Marketing and the Opportunity to Become and Affiliate in the US Market

I have recently been learning about affiliate marketing to help promote my golf business. I know back in the poker boom, poker affiliates were making good money.
Was hoping someone could point me in the direction to where I can educate myself on how to become a successful poker affiliate. Does anyone know of any successful affiliates out there? How much is the Jersey sites offering affiliates for new players? I would imagine there will be an opportunity to earn extra income if and when poker comes back to California.
Any advice/guidance would be much appreciated!
