Just checked the screenshot, nice work, your math is correct.
Except of course 7.3M/150K is not 40, but rather 48.67
Now please run your numbers on stattrek and see what result they come up with.

Spoiler:
0.12% obviously

As you can see these odds are as proper as yours and there are more ways that lead to Rome.

if you have ever played Baccarat this is completely possible. say you buy in for $100 and do $10 bets. It is very possible to get to $1000 in no time. Especially when tie pays 8:1 and pairs play 11:1. I have a friend that will start with $50 and "follow the asians" and proceed to run it to $500-$1000 in under 30 minutes. hes 3/3 with this "technique".
Or be a boss and put $100 on tie and be at $900 first hand. Easy game...
Say Ivey was a true DEGEN and just placed 50k gbp on first hand he would be at 600k right away, 1m gbp hes at 12m gbp right away. (on player or banker pair)

Your friend could make us all rich. Please make him post his unbeatable system on this forum for all to see. I have a hunch you two are going to revolutionize gambling.

A lady turned $500 in to $1m here in Australia not long ago on Baccarat. The game is super sick and this is totally possible. Rare of course, but i have no doubt it happened.

Casino holding back on paying is scummy though. Not surprised.

It happens sometimes in poker too. I once saw some middle aged lady take a stack from $1000 to about $50000 in maybe 3-4 hours. It was funny because the grinders were lining up to sit on the table and she stacked someone pretty much every other hand with cooler after cooler. Was unreal, she just always had it.

Well I always bust at baccarat when I try to copy him. He goes balls out. $50 into $100 then "positive martingale" betting like $300 and I back out. Then he will hit. No strategy just luck. Although the first 2 times he won, we went to $25 blackjack and lost it all within 10 minutes. Not even a meal comp.

I was at the Rio during the World Series, just busted out of a tourney and was walking out through the lobby. Stopped by the Roulette wheel and I witnessed a guy run $500 up to $90k in 30 minutes.

Streaks happen. Otherwise, if streaks didn't happen then nobody would gamble.

I would love to see this phrase become common as a result of what they did.

Do they really think they are going to get away with this? I mean, its one thing to steal money from your average gambler, but quite another to try to steal from a Whale who can afford the very best lawyers in the UK. Hell, i'm sure any major lawfirm worth their salt would take this case on a purely commission basis since its a slam dunk.

i'm pretty sure that all of the math posted in here (not the math itself) is very far off. i'm also pretty sure that hands per hour are going to be a lot higher than all of those guesses since its just phil playing.

ivey is hella superstitious and actually thinks that hot asian chick was good luck. He actually believes in **** like this

I am nice guy though so I will give you a pro-tip:

Rainman is a fictional character (that means not real.)
Funny thing is, just last night i was watching an ep of PAD Cash Game(the one with viffer/ivey/dwan/elezra/PA/?? and Ivey was getting raped for bout 250k!), I wasn't really paying attention until I heard the word Baccarat mentioned....anyway, the following(to my best recollection!) conversation happened:

Viff: I heard you're good at that game(directed @Ivey)

Ivey: I have my moments (slight s******/smirk)
Random chatter then
Ivey: yea, yea I have my Rainman moments

Take it for what it is and how you want. Just reporting!

I'm not sure what episode it was as I was watching it on justin.tv, otherwise I would have linked it obviously.

^Funny

Jeez I sound like a douche in that post. Next time I go off like that I should be reminded that the game can be beaten if you focus really hard, like Rainman. Queen, Queen.
10-12-2012 , 07:25 PM
Its simply an anecdote relating to thread, what you mentioned and what I watched last night.

Nobody cares that you are bright enough to know Rainman is a fictional character. The only word that mattered in your post I quoted was 'Rainman', nothing else. If you would feel better if changed the bolding to show that, then let me know!

I personally will refuse to play the World Series of Poker this year in solidarity.

I dealt 18 bankers in a row in bacc. Got cleaned out for like 250 big bets. Tray refilled twice . Variance can happen and Ivey is God so....

A few years back I played baccarat the one and only time I have ever played it. I wat a bit titled from a life irritation, and decided to just degen it up. Playing 3k per hand I won roughly 85ish K in about 30 minutes. With my fancy money management strategy I figured I had a good chance of making some good cash. I proceed to sit down with Janet Jackson and Jermain Dupree ( a very short guy btw) and play 15k a hand. I lost $240K in about 4 minutes. Didn't win a single hand once I jumped up to a huge bet size. Ivey does the same type of action and he wins. Thats why he's Phil Ivey.

if I was a shady casino I would just hire the hottest babe you would ever see in your life. If a high roller came in I would secretly plant this lady onto the high roller. If somehow this person makes off with millions I would find someway not to pay.

There are other interesting things about the April 7th gathering at Bitar’s house that were never discussed. One topic was Phil Ivey. Sources have confirmed that in this time frame, just shortly before Black Friday occurred, Phil Ivey went to the company looking for a large loan. There are some reports that the request was for $ 20 million, other sources claim it was for $ 10 million. Those sources all concur that Ivey gave his reason for needing the loan as his debt to a “casino” that was due immediately. Further reports indicate that the request seemed “desperate” and the payment had to be made “immediately”. There apparently was discussion among at least some of the board members, and at least one source says it was impossible to confirm that the “dire” casino debt really existed, or that Ivey was unable or unwilling to provide such proof as to its existence. In the end, the decision was made not to grant the loan from the company. It is known, however, that Chris Ferguson did make a loan of at least $ 5 million from the “secret bank account” he held in Pocket Kings name[previously reported]. That money was directed to be wired to Ivey just prior to April 15. It is unclear whether there were additional loans to cover Ivey’s “need” off site.
