Anonymous tables don’t stop bottling or huds, but the thought is recs won’t be targeted like they are on other sites, where fish or whale shows up all seats instantly fill then table breaks when fish busts

So that poor recs/fish don't have to be shown up by their bad play, and regs can still do their thing!

But the poor recs/fish will still lose, but just don't know who they are losing to.

But decent recs/semi-fish who want to play poker for fun and a challenge against others of the same ilk have no reason to sign up.

They actually want to know who they are playing against. And they may be a large part of the equation if online poker has any chance to continue.

That is why Pokerstars isn't running scared I guess.

Commentators don't even look back at the previous hand in the big pots so you get about a second to see the hands at showdown before going on to the next hand.

Probably best to install the software and rail that way.

Joe Stapleton and Richard Gryko. They are having the same problems catching what's going on with the hands as everyone else (Stapes said so himself) because the cards flash at showdown so quickly. He says they'll eventually get it worked out. They also are having trouble determining who's up and by how much.

Seems like railing high stakes games was more interesting back in the day. I think a lot of it does have to do with not enough time to see their hole cards when there is a showdown.

If only they had enough time to know about the challenge to figure out how to get something pretty basic like that.

In fairness, it sounds typical of RIO to rush out stuff without testing basic things.

This is pretty strange software. Various numbers close to each other, font is too thin, no thousand separator, not immediately clear who is to act, etc.
