She was probably recording herself the whole match and clipped this part. She was live on IG for some of it. What is wrong with people in this thread.

When you go on a sick downturn to lose €900k against an opponent who owns the site sometimes caution is the better part of valor.

it's hilarious but also very sad, the problem is people don't understand variance
they see a player win 900K and recognise a false pattern and assume it will continue, when it doesn't something weird has to be up right?
had it been the other way around people would probably have come up with stories of veni secretly sneaking into galfonds apartment installing a trojan on his laptop

Sure, provided the original 900k swing can largely be attributed to variance rather than a disparity of skill.

I don't know PLO but I assume 45 BI swongs are not uncommon among people with similar skill who play wide-open games?

Rigging in this case would presumably mean Veni folding monsters before showdown because they had some kind of deal to let Phil come back.

And I guess Phil did the same to deliberately get into a big hole. But he know's Veni well enough to know Veni wouldn't just say - you know what - I'm gonna just play it straight from now on and not let you win it back, good luck calling the cops.

And a bunch of other holes the rigged strategy could have which make it way more complicated and unlikely.

wrote him off when he was down like 300-400k in this challenge.

Mad props for the sickest comeback of all time. There are literally no other HU challenges where someone came back after getting wrecked this hard early on. PG is a true hero

Yeah, both players should give you access to completely pick apart their game. What do you think they owe you? If both players are happy this was all straight up then who cares what others think. Even if they colluded which I don't think happened with 100% confidence, what did it cost you? You got some free entertainment?

Gambling software has to get audited. The auditing process is way better than back in the UB days. Any version of the code that was pushed to production would be scrutinized. If there was a built-in feature to godmode your opponent, or view someone's screen without them knowing, it would be caught with the audit. In proramming something is either possible or it isn't. If it's possible for the program to do something, you can see that by looking at the code. You'd need to bribe the auditors and anyone with access to the code. What you're suggesting is totally unrealistic for these reasons. This is not like a computer virus or something where the programmers can just do whatever they want.

Bigger question on the last hand - if Phil whiffs, does he still bomb the river?

Was it just me or was there a really classy moment at the end from Veni? The very last hand Veni checked the last hand to the river. Instead of betting on the river in position on the button and taking down the last 400 in the pot he just checked back and let the pot go to whoever it may based on the cards. I thought it was a lovely last bit of sportsmanship that didn't get picked up on?

Lol - just above there was a Ninja delete of a stupid reply to BlackJackDegen about saying Veni saved a few hundred euros by not getting check-raised because PG could afford it - just before I could reply and add my 2c to that stupid post!

And yes, I thought it was a classy ending.

I missed this, absolutely showing a sign of his character. Not that I would have a reason to think otherwise, but having seen so little of this in poker community lately, it is a needed refreshing sight. Respect veni! Very well played and best wishes

I can see why you can read it that way but dont agree. I think it was just him having one last laugh that didn't hurt anyone in front of a huge audience.

We don't know how that played out? Was it something they needed to play out for numbers on the software and challenge? I'll be honest I thought the whole limping and folding to victory was incredible. It gave the whole thing more gravitas and a sense of a sporting occasion. If not required I can't blame him for playing on hoping Phil might blast off for some sense of stupidity towards the fans. The last hand just hit a sense of feels in me when he checked the last hand, especially when just before doing it he announced the GG and both players did it before exposing cards. It just seemed like such a gentleman end
