An actress who has been working for 13 years on two very popular NBC soap operas is a gold digger out to get his millions?

Even if you're not in favour of marriage in general, surely you can be happy for a couple of decent people that are clearly in love. This is a "good news" story. I wish Phil and Farah all the best.
Happy because of a good thing that happens to someone else? I'm not the kind of person who can be like that. I'm happy if something good happens to me, sure, but not someone else. It's completely irrational to be happy for someone else's success. Call me self-centered or selfish, so be it, but that's how I am.

I don't understand people who gain satisfaction from other people's success. This is why I don't understand people who cheer for sports teams, or thump the air in delight when that tennis player from their country hits a winning stroke. It's totally illogical and irrational.

After watching that first vid i retract all gold digger statements. She prob has more money than him anyway. She seems smart and level headed. GL PHIL!

Marriage is a great idea! Don't listen to the immature misogynists who whine about it being a massive negative freeroll. You have to believe that your girl is different. Just because countless men have gotten divorce-raped in the past doesn't mean that it's gonna happen to you. In fact there's an almost 50% change that it wont! If you think marriage is a bad idea it's because you're an insecure child! How else are you gonna prove your love except to enter into a deal with no real upsides and potentially life-crushing downsides.

If phil makes 5 million while being married and there is a 50% change that he wont divorce then the ev of marriage is -1.25 million + potentsial legal fees

I can't believe all the cynical posts here about what is obviously true love. I'm sure if Phil were working at McDonald's she'd love him just as much, and never mind that women initiate over 60% of divorces, she says she's happy with that ring, and that's good enough for me. *eyes roll*

Haha wow, that is intense. You have major chunks of your brain missing. In all seriousness, if that wasn't a troll, go see a psychiatrist and get some medication.

If you're not trolling you might want to look up this thing called empathy.

He very well could be a psychopath and have no idea what it means to feel that, in which case medication would help. Or a really good troll.

Then he's a probably a pretty low functioning one if he doesn't at least understand it intellectually.

The part that gets me is the ring and the contract, if a girl is so madly in love I'd think the marriage ceremony with an artificially high valued rock and a contract that legally binds the man to owe the woman money wouldn't be necessary. Marriage in itself I am fine with, signing contracts and buying stupid jewelry and then being forced to wear jewelry no thanks. The idea of a two parent home with no extramarital sexual partners is a good idea, signing up for voluntary payments after that ends, no thanks.

Good luck to him, but I can only see this ending badly. I'm never, ever, ever going to get married in my life. There's no ****ing way I'm ever doing it. Everyone in my life that has been married has gotten a divorce at least once. I've seen guys lives ruined over this stuff.

Point is, I've yet to see a successful marriage. Actually, the only one I've seen is between 2 gay guys that are now in their 50's. Marriage is obsolete, and it doesn't work anymore in this day and age.

I wish Phil the best, but I'm kinda worried hearing about this. It'd suck to see him lose everything. Marriage is insanely -EV in general, but good luck to him and all we can do is hope it doesn't turn out bad.

Starting not to like Phil Galfond anymore now he's marrying. People turn into boring idiots when they marry someone. Although I'm not sure he cares what a random dude on 2+2 thinks.
Please, tell us more about what you think about two people you've never met.

What if you had a wife/gf who won some singing contest? Or a kid who won their little league tournament? Wouldn't you feel happy for their success?

Granted, your country's sports team or player is a bit of a stretch grin your family's success.. but I'm sure you get the point.
