I don't care that much about kelvis but now I'm kind of pissed that even though there are half a dozen other posts which carried on the conversation I remarked on in the CV thread, apparently only my small posts were deleted. All I said was stuff along the lines of "I agree it's a shame whenever speech is censored." And I even said I was done talking about it.

Why is the “Is this the cure” thread still up on this forum? It seems off-topic for NVG at best, and actively misinformative at worst.

There was an ongoing conversation about "free speech" (sort of) that spanned a half dozen posts or more. I made a post agreeing with one side about how the second side was mischaracterizing the argument, or something to that effect. My posts were deleted, but none of the other relevant posts have been.

But just to be clear, I am certainly not asking that those posts be deleted. I am against deletion. And I would never report a post. (Ok, maaaaybe if it was outright multiple new threads of actual spam and I was literally the only person on the forum at the time.)

It's really not a big deal. I just felt I provided reasonable input and thus wanted people to hear and consider it. It felt oddly personal to be the only one who was deleted while the convo carried on around me. As I said, eez hurtful. So I felt compelled to point that out to somebody. Anybody. And now, knowing that you, Bobo, took the time to care, < sniff>, that was all I really needed to hear. Thank you. Thank you so goddamn much.

He was given a 3-day temp-ban presumably for his posts in the "Cure" thread.

I assumed it was for that as well but had my doubts because while I can see why Mason wouldn't like the post, I can't see what rule that post broke... and if it led to him getting banned then why wasn't it deleted?

I mean there's no insult. No slander. How is that post ok but Mason sharing pseudoscience about herpes as a cure for covid is ok?

I'm truly hoping we're both mistaken and bakes started a thread about beastiality or something so that ban could possibly make sense. Otherwise, it's incredibly disappointing we're banning people over different political viewpoints but sharing pseudoscience cures related to herpes as a means to cure covid19 is a-ok.

He posted about Trump. As you know politics posting is not allowed in NVG. He also complained about a post being deleted and continuing with the Trump reference within that post.

Therefore the rules were broken and it's up to each individual mod or admin to decide the type of action should be taken. In this case it appears to be a 3 day ban.

I agree with Eponymous. I have made my own tiny little protest and requested being removed from the forum. If there is a way to do it I will do it myself after I get a reply to my pm, which will undoubtedly support whosnext, but not being here is no big loss.

My pm reads "I will try and keep this as short as possible, and after this will not bother you or 2+2 again. I have no problem at all with any posts from anyone. I am not complaining about any of my posts being censored or removed, but there was a reply from one member, I am not sure the name, which was a reply to whosnext commenting on one of my posts which went something along the lines of "you made a comment about Trump, one of the most divisive figures of the age, and expect people to think you're being objective."

There was a post from whos next who said that all posts about moderation should be in the moderation thread. They had already removed a post by another member who had criticised him/her - presumably her, but this post was not about moderation it was about not being able to handle an argument, and come across as being right. It didn't criticise her moderation it criticised her opinions.

Sorry to bother you. Is there a way you can remove me from the forum? I hate censorship and do not wish to be a member of a forum where it is so blatant. I have no problem at all with any replies to any of my posts (I can handle any truth or comment no problem, everyone has their own truth) and never have, but to remove posts is disgusting and not something I approve of. whosnext has always struck me as a pretty fair and even-handed moderator. Requesting a permaban and suggesting new moderators seems pretty extreme in response to one incident you don't agree with. I'd suggest giving him some time to respond (I see he's offline now) before getting too excited.

Thanks but the double standards are disgusting. Virtually every other post on that thread is political in some way. At least I started by answering and addressing the poll and giving my position as far as travelling to the WSOP.

To remove someone's post because that mod couldn't handle a simple criticism of their opinion not their modship just illustrates what is wrong with this place.

My pm will probably not receive a reply but I have included my email just in case, which means I can now leave. Since I hardly ever post here it is hardly an extreme request, or a big deal.
