This is my view which may be different than others as there are no set rules in NVG for every case.

I don't like some of the OP and it may have some rig aspects but some of the discussion in the thread has been good and it is healthy sometimes to discuss the economics of the industry.

Also if the thread gets deleted your post count is going to drop considerably.

Okay, I can accept that reasoning. I would like to say though, that I think much of the good discussion that came from the thread is easily provided by other threads that don't have quite such a heavy negative aspect.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure most of the threads I post in would deal a lot of damage to my post count if they were deleted.

I don't see anything wrong with the thread title as it's a view and it's in NVG.

What's the deal with SGT snap locking threads?

First it was the RIP Nash thread which seemed absurd to lock, and now someone starts a thread about the payout structure controversy of the Colossus and she decides that can't have its own thread, either.

Unless threads are clearly breaking rules or being abusive etc what's the point in stifling discussion?

This happens every year around the WSOP, we try to keep all the chatter in one thread because otherwise NVG gets overrun with stuff from every tournament.

Discussing flat payout structures in touraments in general is fine but the first thread that was started was more appropriate to the 2015 WSOP chatter thread because it's WSOP chatter.

And I'm not getting into the Nash thing except to say that the only reason it took so long to resolve has to do with the way the different forums are run, and the vast majority of the mods in general who chimed in agreed it was more appropriate to OOT, so that's where it ended up.

Is there any way to move the Dutch Boyd letter somewhere else? Stickies are generally annoying but acceptable when the stickied thread offers some sort of utility. Nobody will ever extract any value from the Dutch Boyd letter. Kind of embarrassing that it's still there tbh

No, a mod not having responded within 12 hours to a post you made (that didn't have all the needed information) at midnight on a Friday isn't slow at all. I am disappointed and feel like you are being unreasonable.

I saw SGT RJ on earlier today but I believe she chose to ignore my post on purpose because she doesn't like me and doesn't feel like I am important. I do not believe I am being unreasonable at all the response time was extremely slow and I truly believe I was purposely ignored by SGT RJ and that doesn't make me feel good.

Yes, complaining about people not responding to you in 12 hours on the weekend, saying it's extremely slow, is actually very, very unreasonable, whether you believe it or not.

You know that the moderators are volunteers, right? That sleep and eat and work and have lives outside the forums?

Sorry to hear that, but you're probably reading way too much into that. Maybe she just read a few threads, maybe she had a PM to answer and then left her browser open (thus appearing to be "on" the forums), maybe she read other things and not this thread, or maybe she did see your post and decided not to respond for any of a variety of reasons. Who cares?

People doing what you've just done are the reason some mods (myself included) have themselves on "invisible" mode.

Ok I understand what you were referring to now that you have provided a link. Remember there are often some political thoughts that end up in threads of NVG given the nature of this forum. Unless they are not completely unrelated to the thread and not derailing it they are often left alone or possibly not even noticed.

I agree that the thread that concerns you has some political elements but it is also related to poker. There is a fine line here and it could definitely be considered to be somewhat political in nature. However, for this case specifically and for most cases in general, it seems preferable to let the freedom of thought flow in NVG especially if the discussion is somewhat poker related. Therefore the thread will stay here for now.

I show up online all the time because I never log out. Sometimes I leave my computer on for days at a time, even though I'm not even in my damn apartment, and I pretty much always have 2p2 on some tab.
