Yeah. It's pretty much unwatchable, which is a shame.

Why would cardrunner's release that as a promo video? Surely they have better videos than that to tempt people to buy a subscription
11-25-2011 , 06:29 PM
I don't think it's that bad. We get to hear the thought process of one of online poker's biggest winners, to me that's worth having to strain a bit to understand his English.

Phil quits, not really any other action around atm.

XBLINK only ever (from what I saw) wanted to play a few tables. He also played the highest stakes he possibly could with his bankroll (i.e took 10 buyin shots etc). Pokrparty plays a million tables at the same time, actually grinds until he has a 'decent' amount of buyins and also plays ring games which XBLINK rarely did. XBLINK also table hopped like a madman and constantly martingaled etc, when pokrparty plays someone HU he plays 6 tables and never leaves any of the tables until he busts.

Not him imo.

pokrparty plays a totally different style.xblink minraises a lot iirc.

Pretty good video. For the moron who says Skjervoy needs to get a speaking coach: I'd like to hear how you speak Norwegian. I'm sure it'd be perfect; am I right?
11-26-2011 , 03:48 AM
As you can see from the post above I also liked the video, but your argument is invalid, because that person you're addressing (cant be bothered to check who it was) isn't commercially selling videos of himself speaking Norwegian.

akkurat.

Actually ive had a norwegian girlfriend. So, its not that bad. But then again Im not selling instruction videos. Like some1 said, he should just talk norsk, and let some dude do subs for him. Problem solved. Cause I would like to hear/understand his thought process. To bad i cant.
11-26-2011 , 08:55 AM
Looking at his forum posts Blopp writes perfect English. Maybe he just needs more time to get comfortable speaking it.
11-26-2011 , 08:58 AM
He lives in Brighton doesnt he? I'm sure he'll get better over time. You monkeys should be happy that some1 like him is doing vids.
11-26-2011 , 09:41 AM
Not that hard to understand unless you have the proverbial cloth ears.

That is a silly, deflective argument. The poster's ability to speak Norwegian has nothing to do with the fact that Skjervoy could indeed benefit greatly from a speaking coach, and that his English is fairly difficult to understand.

This is a training video intended to promote CardRunners and sell people on subscribing to the site. It does a fairly poor job at that, because Skjervoy's English is terrible.
11-26-2011 , 11:53 AM
skjervoys english seems outstanding, just his accent is very thick which makes it hard to understand
11-26-2011 , 11:56 AM
I've never understood why you couldn't criticize his english just like any other aspects of coaches and/or training videos. We are paying customers (well, technically that video is a freebie...) who have signed to CardRunners to get poker training videos in english. If some people think his ability to speak english is effecting the educational quality of his videos, it's a valid point.

It doesn't really bother me personally because I understand what he says, but I understand why people complain about it.
