Seems like a well done doc, good job Tapis.

Don't want to offend the French but just wondering why many feel the need to say 'quoi' at the end of every sentence even when it's not a question. Is it like the cool thing to talk like that? Kind of tilting imo.

It's about the same as "you know" from americans at the end of their own sentences.

imo

It's a very bad habit that is almost impossible to get rid off

It's just a figure of speech, like saying "you know"

It's not very elegant french but it is common especially in younger crowds

True frenchies never say 'quoi', it's just because they are ****ing degenerate poker players ^^

It's a useful indicator of who's an undereducated lowlife. Like "des fois", "malgré que" etc....

That's a bit of a harsh/pretentious/stupid thing to say. Does the fact you write 'etc...' instead of 'etc.' make you an uneducated lowlife too?

Oh yeah I suppose over half of french speaking people under the age of 30 are under educated lowlifes then. You sound like a great person to hang out with.
