I edited it like 30 seconds-1 min. after I initially posted to reflect that correction

edit: Nvm can't "format" the second hand as it doesn't include the same level of info as Hand 1

My interpretation of the google translation is that:

Gus fired three bullets vs durrrr "drawing dead". His plan was to c-bet the flop and the turn, and if called twice he would give up on the river. Durrrr called on the flop and turn, but Gus decided that he was on a draw that had missed and since Gus couldn't beat ace-high (was behind even some missed draws so couldn't check hoping for a showdown) he decided to fire on the river with a HK $1.7 million river bluff. Durrrr quickly called - Gus was correct that durrrr did have a missed draw, but he had top pair to go along with it.

So to speculate, it was something like ... Gus maybe had two low cards and no pair on an ace-high, two suit flop and Durrrr had an Ace + the nut flush draw so Gus was drawing near-dead to longshot twopair/backdoor combos and the turn and river bricked.

Funny, I take it the poker tourney on Hainan Island was mostly Russians and Chinese playing it? Never heard anything about it until the link above. Is there poker there all the time? Cash games?

about 2 hours ago i was at the starworld. They were playing threehanded and by looks of it they were playing really deep. The table is about 5 meters away from the rail and the inspectors there are not really keen on people standing there staring at the game. I spoted alot of red placs(sp?) which i THINK is worth either 100 000 HKD och 250 000 HKD(maybe tom hall or someone else can confirm this) and all of the three players had ALOT of them. The players were only older asian business men and two of them are "famous" from TV but i wont spoil who it was but aint that hard to figure out who..

I'm a bit late and just saw the question about insurance (which Tom answered). As a historical note, selling/buying insurance was quite common in the old days in Las Vegas (Doyle discusses it in the original Super System).

They got away from it because it massively slowed the game down. First an insurance broker had to be found. Then there were interminable negotiations over the price. [1]

Running it twice (or more) solved that whole problem. Apparently, though, they don't permit running it twice in Macau so they're doing it old-school. Of course, if they ever discover PLO, the insurance negotiations are going to last forever.

Regards, Lee
"Loves old-school "

[1] Guy fading a flush draw with one card to come is a 4:1 favorite. He wants 3.8:1 on his money, insurance broker only wants to offer 3:1, yada yada.

"ooooh i have some info that i'm going to withhold from all of you for absolutely no reason but i just want to let everyone know that i have the info and i could share it with you if i wanted to but instead i'm just going to tell you i have it and am not going to share it. isn't that cool and interesting? aren't you glad i took the time to make this post which doesn't actually provide any new information?"

relax on the banhammer speach lol. my post wasent supposed to be a tease, i was just trying to keep some integrity to the game i guess. The two guys i reconised were two of the asians that were playing in the Aussie Millions cash game in 2011. Its very hard to get any real information if you are not actually playing in that game and my last post really shows that, sorry for the lack of any real info but we need to wait for the guys in the game to spoil..

btw one of the floor managers at Wynn Macau just moved to Starworld, I don't know if this means Starworld intends to compete with Wynn by expanding their cash games, or if the rumor that Galaxy Macau will have a new poker room soon(Galaxy owns Starworld) is going to come true hence needing an experienced hand to run things over there...

well last night I saw Tom Dwan at 3:10am walking alone inside Wynn towards the poker room which is quite odd since he'd know that the highest game running was 'only' 500/1000HKD PLO with a long list, bunch of chinese regs and Sam Trickett playing.. not much news but I just thought it was odd to see Tom walking alone inside Wynn at that time of the night... thought of saying HI to him but whatever lol...

and the day before saw Gus Hansen standing outside Starworld alone near traffic for a few min getting some sun like I was... is that interesting too for the fanboys? lol...

Game has been full so not everybody can play, so Tom and others occasionally wonder over to Wynn. during Manila APT there will be a high Stakes Tournament (will all be announced properly Monday) and yes the big game will move to Manila for a week at resorts World. I have asked APT to post the details here Monday.

Lee in response to your post, they offer insurance in the high stakes PLO that gets played here from time to time too. The insurance guys are ex bookies so super fast at calculating the odds and as sessions are typically so long here and the game so fast that the short breaks that come with the insurance discussions usually welcome. As somebody has to be all in and average pot size for these would be a minimum of HK$4-5m, its always of a size when it has everybody interested

are these HK guys coming to Vegas for WSOP?
Nosebleed Cash Games in Macau thread Quote

Lots of them go to Vegas once or twice a year to gamble but are unlikely to play WSOP events, they don't have the patience to sit and play a 3 day tournament, let alone a 7 day+ Main Event. The Asian Super High Roller Event coming up I think is planned to run for less than 12 hours from start to finish, will be the highest stake turbo tournament ever

Pokerstars are looking for a new room: "The PokerStars Macau card room has temporarily closed. A further announcement will be made shortly."
I think it will be in Cotai, Galaxy or maybe Venetian.

Don't think that all of the people in this game are interested in publicity. Some of them are chinese guys who enjoys privacy as I've heard
