I was talking to Tom Hall today and while he was away from his computer he told me to post our discussion.

The game broke last night after a mammoth near 48 hour session where it started 5-6 handed, was HU for a while and then others joined again at the end. The game would have broken today anyway as some of the principals are going out of town for a week, we expect it to resume in a week or so. Phil and Durrrr both ended up overall for the trip and am sure will be looking forward to an invite back. Dwan expected to relax in Asia for a few days before heading back to the US.

He was somewhat surprised at the tone of a lot of the posts on the forum but as he said “I guess it’s all about free speech and opinion on a forum and that sometimes doesn’t marry too well with the practicalities of fact and the real world. Anyway we tried to bring 2+2 and the poker world a flavor of what was happening here in Asia and let’s see what the next installment brings.” Tom is also going to still bring the moderator over but we will time this to when either KevMath has a passport or someone else can come over when the big name pros are back in town for the game.

He is doing an interview about the games, this thread, and poker in Asia this week so I will put it up when he emails it to me.

For now it looks like the game will be on break, at least for the US visitors.

arent they legally bound to pay taxes on every pot won really thats the case in sweden. say u play 2 pots and put 100k in each and win 1 youre legally bound to pay ~33k in taxes for the one u won. they calculated somewhere that isildur owed the state like 5bil $ or something. imagine that back tax....

That's the case in Sweden, not in the US.

Matt, Much appreciated information/post Great to see.

On the view on this thread etc, I think it's difficult to keep such high profile threads clean from really young/and or ignorant elements without a moderator on it like 24/7. It's just the nature of the internet and by no way specific to this thread. It's much worse in other threads as a general note.

Cliffs: great jobb with keeping the community informed!

I guess after seeing the direction that this thread took, and especially the reaction of the media and how everything has been either blown out of proportion or the type of unwanted attention it has garnered, there is some regret on the part of original posters and knowledgeable contributors wish they had never publicized this in the first place.

I guess this is one reason that after all these years you still hear very little or no talk coming out of 'Bobby's Room' about who is winning what, big hands, etc., especially as participants such as Doyle and Chip (RIP) were/are adamant about privacy and how important it is to maintain along lasting game.

I suspect future updates will become very limited, and those leaking information or pictures may not get invited, especially given that the Chinese do care about privacy a great deal and their government forces may not look favorably to such attention plastered all over the media.

If Kevmath does not go to do a potential trip report of a lifetime (and for free) does this mean its confirmed that he's is scared to talk to people irl?

Cannot think of another good reason if he does not go
