High Stakes Poker isn't the same without the top players in the world. Norm will likely be the scapegoat for this season failing, but in reality it will fail because of the relatively weak player lineups. A pokerstars sponsorship fits with a lot of shows but HSP isn't one of them. Pokerstars can't be something they aren't. They can't replicate having the top cash game players because they simply don't. Heck, they didn't even manage to get Isildur1 in the lineup.

Not stupid enough to find Norm hilarious, sorry. But I can see people liking that humor in the WSOP setting, with all the peculiar "characters" that go by the main event. And hey, sometimes he can be funny, I don't deny it. But I'm not watching HSP for that kind of comedy, I'm watching it for the poker that was played, and Gabe could hit a perfect mix between humor and good poker commentary.

If you were referring to my comment about Galfond, I sure didn't like his previous appearances on the show. But that's ok I guess, let's bring Galfond and Robl again no problem. It's only a TV show, no need to get upset about it.

I was just assuming there was a reason they backed out. We'll see this year whether they intro the show as sponsored by pokerstars because that would be a legit reason for FT players to back out.

Two questions for the posters:

1.)Has Gabe given any sort of statement? Just wondering if it was his own idea to leave and if he's doing ok.

2.)WHY - srsly - do you care if Patrick Antonius is on the show? I think he's as brilliant a player as anyone, but the guy is a wax sculpture of himself taking up a seat someone a bit more entertaining could occupy. No offense to PA but great TV he is not.

I love McDonald - he'll do a steller job. Too bad they couldn't have him co-host with Gabe. Mr. Kotter is the link to the past and still cracks me up.

Too bad the American entertainment industry thinks 3D is their savior instead of what it is most of the time - a misused gimmick whose only saving grace is that it seems to cut down on "spaz cam" in action movies.
