CR doesn't pull down as much as people think imo....Like everything in Poker, it will eventually fold.
they make a lot of money. in that one interview i'm pretty sure taylor mentioned they'd net 7 figures in 2007.

I just went to cardruners to look for Jmans video and I don't see it or his name anywhere. Can someone help with a link or some direction?

Thanks bottom set. I got confused because his name isn't in the list of guest pros, but if you scroll through all of the guest pro videos his is somewhere in there.

So I'm trying to pick an action jeff video to watch but I don't know where to start. It seems like all of his highest rated series have parts missing. I'm starting at the
beginning anyway, but there's no part 1 to his first series and then I don't see videos 4, 7, 9, 15, 16, etc...

ps - for those of you that say things are getting stale at CR, check back in 10 days. i recommend not cancelling your subscription until then. am i bluffing??? you'll have to wait and see. seriously though, don't cancel.
Do you at least have a feature set to entice us with? You really, really need to set proper expectations. If you keep iterating "Just wait ... just wait" people are inevitably going to say "That's it?" when you finally pull back the curtain.

jman's video was incredible
Yeah, seriously.

This is the most disappointing thing I've read in a while. If there's any chance of this getting worked out, don't give up.

I find it pretty lame some people bash CR because they couldn't work something out with Jman. Like in anything business, money talks, and perhaps Jman was asking too much money? I am sure they tried their best in any case.

I read Jman's article on J-bucks a while ago and thought it was excellent and actually the best player-written strategy article I have read on NL, but even he was clearly unaware of and/or uninterested in some basic game theory concepts that could have allowed him to go even deeper.
lol

Because someone looking to make a business copying yours wouldn't be willing to sink $125 into the effort?

Who? Won't this be public anyway? Was input requested from the user base for whom they wanted to see?

That clears things up. Is your big tada going to be a hand history viewer? Or new microphones for your instructors.

It's not as easy as you might think to work out deals with players that make millions playing poker.
Why in the WORLD would ANYONE making "millions" playing poker give a chit about "working something out" so he could post videos?

Due to the comments in this thread, I just purchased a full CR subscription and am watching Phil's 10/20 video as we speak. Ship it.

QFT. If I had to guess, none of the bigger people who make videos for CR are making large amounts of money compared to what they make playing poker, but they do it anyway because they enjoy giving back to the community and helping people improve their game.

That's not to say that Jman doesn't do this (if not even more than the other CR members), but maybe he should take this into consideration when negotiating his salary.

Because it CAN be very "beneficial to" BECOME more well-known/respected in the POKER community. Since it WOULD also greatly benefit CARDRUNNERS as well, of "course he's going to SEEK" just compensation.

FWIW, if I had to choose one person in poker to talk to about a particular hand or concept, it would be Jman without question.

Call my crazy but couldn't Jman spend $80 on an web designer and have his own site up in like 2 days and pay himself what he wants and charge what he wants.

I don't think you understand how much work Taylor and andrew(and a couple others) put into the site. it IS their full time job now. to run a site w/ that many members it takes a lot of hours, and its not something you can do in your spare time(which is why u don't see others copying them).

one thing hasn't been mentioned, and was a big step for them was adding Schneids as a guest pro, and getting him to make some videos recently. I don't play min bet hold them but I still liked his videos

if they hired a proper web designer, a sight like this is VERY EASY to maintain. Porn has been doing it for years.

Considering there are accounts/subscription and payment management/DRM/etc, no it's not that easy to build up. It's not hard either but it won't just cost "80 bucks to hire a web designer". It'll take a lot more than that. If you want something decent/secure that is.
