It would be nice if a game good for death matches had been released in the past 5 years. Has there been a half decent one since Painkiller (which wasn't popular at all)? What do the nerds play nowadays? Doesn't look like there are any good ones on that site.

edit: Just noticed it's for console games. Lame.

Hardcore FPS gamers(like myself) played a lot of PK, but that's about it.

this has the same problem as chess: a good player would almost never ever beat a bad one.

I think "video game gambling" will become extremely popular in the next 20yrs. All it really needs is the right game (and possibly whole system) to kick it off.

The game they played in the movie "The Island" for example would be perfect.

There just wouldn't be enough variance to keep the donators coming back. I imagine the players on that site would be too good.

a rare QFT from me.

At least I know how to get to the ultimate railgun sniper spot on the Q2 edge DM map, and how to write a quick script to get a scope for it. [/geek]

Mario Kart 64 and GoldenEye 64 I would play heads-up for rolls some levels. Need to get back into shape, it's not possible to lose more with it than playing money so that's ok.

There's huge variance in something like Mario Kart. There are some parallels there with poker. Anyone can win a given race but over x amount of races the best player will win.
