edit: oh and btw he did not play for "years", i dont recall exactly how long it was but it wasn't that long
This.

YAWN someone always has to bitch about Negreanu picking on Hellmuth whenever they're both in the topic of a thread. Waahh waahh ****ing wah. Is no-one who isn't as good as Ivey or Dwan allowed to pick on Hellmuth anymore?

Disregarding some pointless indepth comparison of their lifetime tournament/cashgame record, Negreanu seems like a nice guy, Hellmuth doesn't. Sure he might be in real life or when you get to know him or whatever, but in general he comes across as very annoying and everyone loves to see him lose.

Anyway I still think it's pretty obvious who is worse at poker and definitely who is more delusional.

Who cares if Negreanu picks on Hellmuth. They're friends.

HSP isn't exactly the barometer to run with when judging cash game skills.

take whatever he wants to bet Daniel!

its free money, he has 0 chance to win a tourney with more than one game(NLHE)

ill take a piece of free cake if offered

Negreanu did not play the big game for as long as people think. I can remember him constantly talking about it, but not for years by any means.

Watching Daniel on this season of HSP has been tough because I like the guy. I find it funny when he sits there and says things after hands that he so clearly should not be saying. The other players, particularly the obviously successful ones, don't sit there and explain their entire thought process and what they thought happened in the hand and on and on and on. This is war Daniel, I don't get why you're not rewatching this stuff and seeing this obvious mistake. It is a noticeable difference between you and everyone else when it comes to this.

Money made in weaker non-WSOP tournaments doesn't make Negreanu a better tournament player.

You realize that Hellmuth only succeeds @ the WSOP vs ******s right? DN won WPT POY which are considerably harder tournaments since they are all 10ks and have less satty winners. This comment is so ass backwards.

Daniel is good at PR!
But I don't understand his crusade in the last few months to make Hellmuth look bad.

Thanks Matt, those interviews were great!

ive seen like everything involving poker, and i have to say that was the most likeable i have seen hellmuth be. Its like things are finally getting through to him.
He realizes he has to put in the work to be a good mix game player, and he realizes that no matter how good you are, the NL fields are so ****ing deep , that he will have to "gamble" a bit. He knows that for him to keep moving up in bracelets, and to only do this in NL, its only going to get tougher and tougher, so i can see him becoming good at mix games, and actually being a threat in the field.

daniel tries a little to hard for acceptance, dude we all know you are a great player, and yes you are the one "live" pro who is honest enough to say out loud that they have to keep learning and getting better.
Daniels results will never fall, he doesn't have the ego, to be overpassed by other players, and not see it plain as day and know that he has work to do.

Danny dont try so hard, anyone hating on you, is just being stupid.
03-11-2010 , 05:19 PM
i snap call this at 800:1, since there were only 194 entrants last year. 250:1 is a little tougher, but im willing to risk $5 for a sweat. once daniel loweres it to 250, all daniel is really saying is that phil is slightly worse than the mean ability of the field, so i fail to see how its such a huge dis.

any idea how i get this bet down? just ship to daniel on ps blind? lol

Negreanu telling it like it is.... he is my hero.

The 2nd link doesnt work for me, the youtube viewer just says an error occurs. Can someone post it up?

Good interview with DN, cool guy imo. Never understood the hate he gets.

Hellmuth, Scotty Nguyen, tsarrast currently at feature table at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/bay-101-shooting-stars with less than 18 left.

Love the stream! Not to nit pick something of which I was completely ignorant half an hour ago, but an in-booth basic commetary on bets and board cards would be nice. Video is spotty from my phone buy audio works well. Also, put the camera behind the dealer.

Seriously, tho, top notch all around. Way to represent Bay Area!

Well....... Neat!
03-11-2010 , 08:48 PM
The previous days, the camera was behind the dealer. With them building the set for tomorrow, maybe things got moved around?

10 year head start FTW.

Either way, 800-1 or 250-1 are both ******edly bad offers, DN would get destroyed in those. ANY +EV player that has a clue how to play all the games is better than 250-1 to win the 50k HORSE, much less 800-1.
03-11-2010 , 09:54 PM
surprisingly it was a really enjoyable PH interview.
03-11-2010 , 09:57 PM
Hellmuth to Scotty.."I'll give you one guess what i had,(shows top set) top set baby, what did you think i had"..Phil is the greatest..i hope everyone is watching this live
03-11-2010 , 09:59 PM
Didnt read all answers but 250 to win is a must take for Hellmuth (or any other player for that matter). He´s got a couple months to improve some of the games played, and some of those games, like Razz, can literally be learned to WSOP-level in a day. Phil putting 100 K on the line or finding a few backers, can put Negreanu back 25 million lol. Pretty sure the offer wasnt serious and/or will be retracted as soon as PH indicates to be willing to take it on.
