My Wild Guess about Ivey's Supposed Bankroll (Numbers aprroximately). My Wild Guess about Ivey's Supposed Bankroll (Numbers aprroximately).

Obv threads like this happen all the time, so whatever.

It is shocking to me, though, how many people don't consider taxes, tourney BIs, travel expenses, and life expenses when figuring this stuff out. I mean, it has to be all 17 year-olds doing that, right? Even if your estimates were close, you probably should divide your total by at least 4 when figuring out how much liquid cash he has now.

Also, I know people in the UK don't pay taxes on poker winnings. We are all jealous of you. :-P Obv, Phil Ivey is in the US, though.

Solid thread

Great research

I especially like the part where you estimate Ivey is a winner in general gambling

Let me say this so its very clear

There is no chance that Phil Ivey is a winner on craps and baccarat. Its a game designed to lose, and he has played enough volume to overcome any heaters.

I know you people think everything he touches turns to gold, but thats not the way it is.

Ivey has been quoted a few times saying he was glad he found poker, a game he could beat, because he loves to gamble and lost on everything else.

You think Phil Ivey worries about groceries?

yawn a mirron threads on this, plus OP doesn't even know about Ivey's massive stake in FTP... lock move etc
08-17-2010 , 02:49 AM
If he wasn't raking, I think he would have some problems (despite the fact he is a world class poker player).

He is a house guy. And you people don't seem to get that.

Regardless, everyone that I talk to that has interacted with the guy, have nothing but good to say about him (wait staff, valet, etc).

The kid has class. And we could all learn from that.

earnings=/bankroll

imo he is worth a lot more in both overall and bankroll...
08-17-2010 , 03:05 AM
I heard he made $1million/month from ftp a few years back, and i mean just from having his stake in the company, not from playing poker at the site.

08-17-2010 , 03:29 AM
This thread is even better than that old "Does Ivey Have An Edge At Craps?" thread.
08-17-2010 , 03:32 AM
whoa you guys are way to harsh on OP............

even though dude has a pretty big leak in games that are 100% -ev math equations and CAN NOT be beaten in the long run I've also heard hes up close to 75 mirrions!!!!

they were talking about it somewhere between Complete St. and Pure Speculation Blvd.

My estimate on Ivey's supposed Bankroll:

nline winnings since 2007 (from HSDB.com) = 18 M

Tournament winnings = 13 M

Full tilt sponsorship and other endorsement deals = 11 billion dollars

Bobby's Room and other cash games = -7 billion dollars

General Gambling (Craps, BJ and other gambling) = -4 billion dollars

Prop and golf Bets = -30,999,96.50

Results, my estimation is bout $3.50
08-17-2010 , 05:28 AM
My calculation was nearer $4 but pretty close anyway.
08-17-2010 , 05:32 AM
So his stake in Full Tilt is worthless?
08-17-2010 , 05:34 AM
That's why my calculation was nearer to $4
08-17-2010 , 05:36 AM
He has to pay taxes and tournament fees aren't even included. So even if your calculation was accurate, it's much lower.

there´s an episode of "life of ivey" with david williams. phil says david had 10 % of his craps action for last year, hence owing him 340. i´m pretty sure he´s talking about 340 thousand, i.e. ivey lost 3,4 million in 2008 (?) alone. talk about having waaaaaaay too much money.
08-17-2010 , 06:24 AM
Why is gods name would you take a percentage of craps action!

So why would you think there is a need for another thread about this. Why not post in one of the ones you've already read?
