Literally every single one of them, they all jump over each other to get on the transfer list and fight over the seat change button

almost anyone who snap requests a seat change button is a piece of trash. there are exceptions like wanting a different seat bc of poor vision.

i've encountered some people who sit out bomb pots except when it's their button.
at one table this guy sat out of bomb pots for 5 hours then did one on his button and nobody really noticed. then an hour later he was the button again and wanted in. I pointed out what he was doing- half the table basically told him he's a scumbag and for that dealer we all agreed not to do a bomb pot.

people who wait like 5-6 hands for the button to pass- seriously wtf are you even thinking? if it's not worth playing the blinds to get the button then you can't possibly win long term. and you're letting a table full of mostly strangers during wsop time know you're a colossal nit.I'd actually respect someone who set up the super nit image then came in blasting away on bluffs.

I shamed one short stacking bum hunter the other night. so so game one really fishy player- super nice guy. Guy on the fish's left busts. This dude snap throws a chip to lock up the seat. in my head I'm like 95 percent he's bum hunting seat hopping trash since it was from the 3 to the 6. He's waiting for the button to pass before he actually moves. Fishy guys busts and leaves. He takes his chip back. I told him he's a pathetic weasel bc I'm just sick and tired of watching parasites stoop to such lows but he went right back to his tablet and didn't care what I had to say.

Poker rooms really don't care about this stuff but really they should police it better. IE you have a seat change button- you move. That's it no seat change button for the rest of the day at that table. Same with transfer lists. Yes occasionally I'll tranfer if the game sucks- and usually bc it also has excessive tanking. But i've seen people play 6 hour sessions at 8 different tables of the same stake game.

In the last year or so I've actually noticed more people getting on seat change lists at least for plo. So when Aria has plo 7 games and I know 6 people in my aids game are on the seat change list I just wait them out and usually within an hour or two the game is filled with total randoms. if they're playing really slow I'll even just leave my chips and take a food break.

To answer your question about which people specifically- most of the euros are horrible as are the young Japanese.

I get the seat change button as soon as I sit down. one time a floor at graton took it from me and said I had it for too long. what a dick.

the seat change button is a strategic piece of the game, they should change the rules if you want it to be done differently

Seat change lists are another story

Depends on who is feeling strong and confident on that day. I will prefer a European if the Southerner is going to complain and whine all day. But there is very little more respectable than a strong Southern man. If the best of the best so to speak are going up against each other my money is definitely not on most people in the Card Room but I will pick my preferred bum hunting target like that.

I think you have a tremendous start on Entertaining Poster of the Year for this hot take and your "three Doberman babies in a hotel room" post.

Bum hunting is more a manifestation of poor management policies (no must move or policies that prevent excessive table changes for bumhunters) and players with terrible attitudes (tanking/on iPad or phone/robots/complainers etc) then a reflection on a population in my opinion.

If you’re coming out to Vegas to play the same stakes you play back home because games are better aren’t u already a huge bumhunter? (I know most people come for the experience/tournaments but I mean some just play literally same stakes and only cash and never leave the tables/enjoy Vegas)

I don't mind a game with bumhunters playing in it; it is part of the ecosystem.

Personally, I play only the lowest stake live NLHE games offered so I can afford to strike down upon bumhunters with great vengeance and furious anger against those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.

Re-raising bumhunters is good entertainment.

Of course, sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you.

never had a seat change button in my life and never will.
Right out of the gate you're announcing to anyone paying attention you take poker way too seriously.

Although I'm pretty sure a ton of people on here would disagree with me.

If you want to call seat hopping fish strategic I guess you're technically right.

there are games better than Vegas in many places.
I may dabble in a tournament or two but mainly grind cash in vegas. During the series I can play plo 24/7 and I can't do that locally. There is also the aspect of having friends out here and having a lot to do. But even just from a purely poker standpoint I'd say my average games locally are better but I can't get in nearly the volume I can in vegas during wsop.
I also get sick of seeing the same dealers, same players etc. Change is good.
I also normally don't stay super long during wsop bc the weather is atrocious after the first week or so but this year it has been nicer than I can ever remember for June.
Today the high is 88- the same date last year it was 109.

Makes sense. I just assumed it was due to chasing higher quality of games not more volume. I just always find it ironic the people who complain about a subset of the population acting inappropriately usually are doing it as well usually just don’t realize it/want to admit it (nits always are the ones calling out other nits). I think bum hunting is terrible for the game and ecosystem but at the same time I sympathize because a lot of times I just don’t feel like playing in a certain game/people can make the games unbearable.

ThereÂ’s easy solutions that prevent it/should be implemented like must move systems which donÂ’t allow people to leave and come back on must move game but management refuses to do the work to implement it so I feel like itÂ’s more a casinos fault then player pools. Also this is a main reason bigger games went private (players create better systems to prevent this stuff compared to management which in its own way is very sad)

I agree that change is good to keep poker interesting and entertaining.

One of the benefits of playing in Las Vegas, as a local who plays on occasion as a rec, is that change is constant. Seldom are more than 4 players in a game strictly locals in my experience (maybe 5 on average at SouthPoint).

The rooms and staff are familiar/static, but there is a mix of players. Plus , aside from California grinders, a good percentage of visitors bring more gamble to the table since they are more likely to be there to play, rather than grind.

I mean maybe for some people it is. For me it's always been about volume more than anything.
I play probably half as much as I used to at my peak of playing live- but even back then I always tried to put in a ton of hours during wsop and during local tournament series, especially WPTs and would then have stretches where I barely played at all.

the biggest nits are always the most vocal to complain at the table.
I'm usually middle of the pack as far as vpips go. But i've been in batshit crazy games where I may have the lowest or second lowest. When an action guy gives me **** for it i laugh. But i've had times where I have the second or third lowest vpip and a guy playing less than half the hands I am is trying to call me tight or whatever and I totally lose it on them. It might actually be worse than fake action pro trying to talk up his action when people do this. I've never once in my life called someone out for being tight/nitty unless they tried to act like they were something they're not. Someone can fold 50 hands in a row and I won't say a word but just don't tell us all how you're here to gamble blah blah blah. Or when you finally play a hand and get all in with a straight flush draw and miss how you "put it in with king high" or some such nonsense.

My most recent Vegas trip several times the biggest nit in the game was openly complaining about how bad the game is. Just whining about it. Meanwhile they're on their tablets/phones the entire time, holding up the action playing no hands etc. The most recent guy had a his phone set up in one of those phone holders watching videos, sunglasses, some garbage cloth thing covering his face (how this is allowed is beyond me) and a his hood up over his head. And just wouldn't stop bitching about the game sucking. I mean he was right the game did suck. it was a so so game before he got there. Like dude wtf about the way you act and your ridiculous poker costume has ever been conducive to a good game and fun atmosphere?

Don't forget getting casinos to hire dealers who are good at multitasking so that they may chat up players in order to create an enjoyable atmosphere. (Or maybe it's that dealers also have to know how to mix drinks – it can be read either way.)

Some people are more comfortable in different seats. If I’m stuck in the middle I’ll take a seat change button and go to the first or last seat when it becomes available.

Well played, I see what you did there! I always wondered what it would be like to play poker with Jules! Figured if he ever gets rivered by a guy really bad, he would just have to bust a cap in his ass! Lol

i hate the 1 and 9 but still don't ever seem to have trouble moving out of them without a button. Like i said there are exceptions but the vast majority if snap "seat change button" people are just seat hopping the fish and will often move multiple times throughout the session in an effort to always be in the Jesus seat.

I agree with this, one and nine (10 in my room FML) are the worst seats at the table.

I like two and three and seven and eight, you get to see the whole table, and generally can have a decent angle on TVs or the rest of the room.

I will bumhunt an end seat, unless I get sat at another seat immediately, and it just has great position on the action.

Yeah, God forbid it should fall to players to do the social engineering of an enjoyable atmosphere, in their own self-interest.

You mean there is more to optimizing a game than a parasitic play ?

Obviously it’s going to be different based upon the stakes and games

But regardless I’d say that more than half of seat changes are to get more comfortable and/or change luck. Or maybe get away from direct right of tough lag which isn’t predatory.
