A few years ago Ivey said his goal was to win 30 bracelets. What happened to that?

To me, I am the most disappointing player at the WSOP. I didn't even play one event, despite great world-record achievements in Far Eastern ultra-deep stacked poker. I've decided that the writing comes first and that playing in any WSOP event will be reward for my agent selling one of my books. Integrity maintained, somehow. Basic human instincts fulfilled. Life on an even plane.

The fact that you didn't realize he made a good bet given the odds he was getting because "he probably won't win one this year" still tilts me to this day. Math is hard.

Definitely [insert a player's name] is the biggest surprise so far this WSOP.

Poker for the most part is dead amongst Woman
Im not trying to be that guy but i dont get the obsesion with getting woman in poker its been around forever if they wanted to play it they would maybe women dont want to play with grumpy and smelly dudes with bad breathe telling them how to play AK... idk maybe im more of a advocate of getting fish in the game instead,,, also i dont see how involving women in poker is that big a deal unless the intention is to prey on them or exploit them which seems a little sexist ,... lets get woman in poker so we can take thier money? there arent enough woman in football or demolition you dont see the non stop advocation for women to get involved from them do you

Jamie Gold. Picked him up early in my fantasy draft. Really thought this was his bounce back year.

LOL.
I'm not sure why my simple question made you cry so much, but dry your tears and calm down for a minute.
And why do people keep mentioning 'sample size'? I think people have misunderstood my pointing out that Negreanu, Selbst and Seiver had a disappointing start to the Series as being some sort of claim that all three of them are hopeless fish or something.
As always, actually understanding the original post in a thread will greatly increase your ability to provide a relevant reply.
But, thanks for trying to join in anyway.

The trend in poker is essentially a stratification between small buy in massive field tournies and huge buy in small fields populated by elite players with no discernible edge on their competition.

Smaller fields, players being and feeling alienated, too many bracelets, low quality cards. It has taken the WSOP about six years but they have managed to bring to a 10 year low the "most trusted poker brand in the world". I have only played a few events there in the past few years, but this year just feels different. Matt Glantz said that is because the lack of PokerNews...maybe, but the general atmosphere is not an exciting one.
Theres a ton of bracelets because there is a ton of wsop entries EPT and WPT buyins are too hi and at inconvient times for family men. with the wsop people come for family and summer vacation and are willing to spend $1500 on a wsop event,, alot of ept ,and wpt events are not only expensive but over seas a lot of times,,,, just because there are more wsop bracelets I dont think it cheapens their value expecialy in a 1000+ field but we all know the first place prize matters more than the bracelet

The longer online poker isnt allowed the more these events suffer satelite winners were great sources of motivation for novices online sponsorship paid for more televised events like go daddys heads up event also there arent as many young kids able to chunk of thousands at a time the young laggy player made the game fun and exciting,, fish got to own that guy every now and then,,, now its nitty pros vs nitty fish honestly I have more fun playing international players

WSOP without Pokernews has been awful. I religiously followed and watched all the videos/updates throughout the day. It was so easy to follow. I don't want to have to go through the garbage at wsop.com

Its been annoying alright. Hopefully it makes them realise what a great job PN were doing and bring them back in next year.

Basically, everyone believes quality content can be produced virtually for free. Which is not the case. Here is my 'usual poker' take:

Crushinator has this to say: "Smaller fields, players being and feeling alienated, too many bracelets, low quality cards. It has taken the WSOP about six years but they have managed to bring to a 10 year low the "most trusted poker brand in the world." I have only played a few events there in the past few years, but this year just feels different. Matt Glantz said that is because the lack of PokerNews...maybe, but the general atmosphere is not an exciting one."

I kind of agree... there does seem to be a spark missing this year. Is it related to the PokerNews debacle? I have witnessed firsthand the WSOP's indefatigable Rob Kirschen trading in his suit for reporters' garb and dealing with the nuclear implosion that was the result of deciding not to pay PokerNews the money it requested to cover the 2015 WSOP (reportedly three times that paid the year before - it used to be that advertising paid media budgets). This is no knock on the WSOP tournament team - the real issue is undoubtedly Caesars Entertainment Corporation, which is so massively underwater financially that it is trying to squeeze every dollar out of the WSOP experience as possible. Naturally, the real profits are in the cash games and the question is how they are faring as compared to last year. I have a feeling they may be just fine. In any case, the WSOP has now poached some PokerNews reporters to ensure consistent quality of reporting, although this does not mean that their highly professional (and somewhat independent) reporters are appeased. I hear ominous grumblings all the time from the usual suspects.

Erik Molina and it's not close. After a nice cash of 39k+ in March of this year thought the most entertaining player in WSOP history might return with a vengeance.
