We don't know how much he owns, but I bet it's a small percentage, unless he inherited it or something.

You can own less than 1% and still legally call yourself an "owner".

He said something about working 110 hours per week, but I bet if you called there at a different random time all seven days this upcoming week, and asked for him, he wouldn't be there.

I have no information to back this up, but it's just a vibe I'm getting.

Weird.

Something isn't adding up here.

It is EXPENSIVE to open up a restaurant -- both buying an existing one and starting up your own from scratch.

The biggest problem is what's known as "build out costs" -- construction of the kitchen and the restaurant itself. That often runs over $250k. There are plenty of other large costs associated with opening a new restaurant.

This article covers it pretty well:

http://www.inc.com/articles/201111/b...estaurant.html

Even if you try to avoid these costs by buying a restaurant from an existing owner, that previous owner is very aware of what he spent to develop the place, and will never let it go for cheap.

So Jason had hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on this restaurant in June, 2012, but couldn't quickly pay Assani a measly $2k prior to that?

There are many ways that this could have actually come to pass.

He might have inherited the restaurant, but just about no cash to go with it.

The restaurant might be silently owned by his parents or whatever, and he is the face of it.

He might have gotten a loan for most of it, with his parents co-signing (zero chance he would qualify on his own), but in reality has little-to-no equity at the moment.

All I know is that it's unlikely he sunk hundreds of thousands of dollars into this thing, and had virtually zero for anything else in his life, all while dodging a guy he owed $2k for months.

I'm not going to hijack this thread any further trying to figure this one out, but as usual in this situation, nothing is probably as it seems on the surface.

JY's claim is that he was completely unaware of the bet for over a year and would've been able to pay had he known about it.

I understand that you may find it difficult to believe he happened to forget about a $2000 bet and just happened to stop posting on 2p2 right after it happened. Because I'm personally involved in this and because I see no point in casting speculation, I have chosen to 100% believe Jason on this.

Maybe I am just completely ignorant about how these things work, but if he has a bank account can't he just mail you a check or, if he doesn't have a checking account, have his bank give him a cashier's check or money order to send to you?

I have an account at most major banks. Not a brag, as I don't keep much in them, but I keep them open in case I travel and my usual banks don't exist where I'm going.

I will volunteer to receive the $2022 for Assani, and send it to him immediately in the way of his choice.

Assani, post if you agree, so Jason can get this going with me.

Same goes for anyone else with a debt involved here.

I have been in poker (mostly mid-high limit) for 13 years and have never rolled anyone, or even been accused of it.

Again, you're basing this on NOTHING.

2p2 was hacked within a couple of days of the bet being booked. Is it not at all possible that Jason had so much on his plate he forgot about the bet? Assani didn't contact him outside of 2p2 for months.

You should just have him speed Fedex you a check. Even if he pays for the Fedex out of whatever he owes you. Adding other people to the process is unlikely to be the worth the extra risk / logistical complications.

Fedex also comes with tracking # so you can verify it being sent and post hourly updates to 2+2

Anything more classic than all these degenerates that can't pay a dime agreeing to donate all this money to charity.

Can't wait to see what charity the all give money to...

Jack Walls and UCARE sounds perfect for these guys.

Re: moneymaker vs jason young (resolved - see post 497 & 503...and then not - see post 656)

I am gonna throw this out there again and ask if it would at all be reasonable to speculate a possible connection?

http://www.trentonian.com/article/TT...WS01/121029679

Grasping straws maybe. But for some reason it might make sense considering all involved. If this is at all related, I can certainly understand JY's reasons for not revealing his connect.

Now, those unfamilliar with Federal laundering, illegal gambling and racketeering cases, would not understand the possible ramifications of this thread being used for what ever reason, by whatever side, in whatever situation at hand. I would hope those intimately involved do.

Point is, if this is part of that, all sides will not see closier in a public forum. No way. Just round n round we go.

Just a thought

What's so difficult about just mailing a check. Can get tracking from usps ups fedex etc. If he mailed check when assani brought it up it already would be resolved.
