Your "friend" is full of "sh*t"

Rumor has always been that Stern made him sit out in 94 and 95 as a punishment for gambling, that was covered up by the untimely death of his father...

I can confirm this is the exact story that I heard...There was a BRAWL between Ripken and Costner at Ripkens house that ended with Costner having a gash on his head and Ripken doing serious damage to his wrist/forearm.

Ripken calls the owner of the O's and explains to him (and only him) what happened. Miraculously the lights go out in Camden Yards that night and the game gets postponed. Im pretty sure this is when Ripken plays several 6-7 inning games to get credit for it, and then rests.

I wonder how much he is making for being featured in 2k11. Hopefully 2k still had time to fix everything that went wrong last year.

One of my friends saw Jordan in a restaurant at around noon. Jordan was already drunk smoking a cigar. He had funded some scholarships that went to her school. She went up and thanked him and said he couldn't be nicer. Talked to her for a few minutes.

I guess it couldn't hurt that she's a blonde.

Havne't read anything in this thread ..... but:

Does it count as degenerate when he can literally lose $2 million dollars in one night and it doesn't really matter?

And yea I grew up watching him play basketball (the second half of his career anyway) and he was awesome .... and I saw the first half on replays.

Best basketball player ever. Just amazing and always wants to be the best ..... maybe that causes problems sometimes ..... but he was my hero for many years. I came up very short on the basketball front .... played high school varsity at a high school that never did that great. Turned to poker and though I never made TV and nobody knows who I am I've made some money anyway. I'm 25 and will never be a pro athlete ..... that dream has died and I see people younger than me make it now which is weird .... but I now go with the more sedentary poker and I can make some money at that.

Jordan, however, was the best and he was a part of my childhood. My parents didn't have cable and I remember having my grandparents tape some games (yea tape, like VHS) .... so that I could go watch them later ..... I really remember one where the Bulls played Mourning and Larry Johnson's Hornets. That was a fun night for me.

He's a winner. Yes, he needed to get a few players behind him before he won a title (and you can't underestimate Pippen, he was a great player) ..... but he always gave it his all. He was always taking everything on his back .... he never failed to show up in the playoffs. He was always shooting and taking it on. It was always on him ..... he never failed to be aggressive and realize he had to make it happen. Can't say the same about all the current stars. Some people may know who I mean ... after watching last year.

Oh .... and I'd guess Jordan has way more money than Ivey. Like I said guess. ..... but it seems likely ....huh ....
