I read that they’re essentially rebuilding every app and process from scratch. They’ve completely bungled this.

I'm just gonna assume they got the backups if it's going on this long (and no immutable backups...not everyone follows best practices, even large companies).

Left Excalibur this morning, there was no access to MGM Rewards info while I was at the hotel, despite signage ll over the lobby about MGM Rewards.

If you were broken into, you can't just restore a backup. You have to make sure that backup won't get broken into immediately after with the same vulnerability. Further, if you're involving the FBI, your servers are a crime scene.

That's my understanding. They've got backups in place and up and running for everything internal, but still have voluntarily shut down anything that might be externally accessible. At least, that's my interpretation of what I overheard a Mandalay poker floor telling another player on Sunday.

I'm at the Beau Rivage (MGM) in MS and can't tell too much difference yet. I've really just checked in. This took much longer than usual. They gave me some food vouchers because "the Rewards program is not working". Will update later.

Checked into vdara on Friday. Not noticed any issues at all.
Although we did get an uber from someone who said they were an mgm employee who still hasn't been paid so has to drive to get money. Brutal

Unless you're some big player ALWAYS book as many weekends as you can while they're available ,hack or no hack. You can always cancel.

Matt Cox was a scammer who took the mortgage industry for millions of dollars. When he was in prison he would talk to guys just like the above post and have DOBs, city/state of birth and mothers maiden name in under a minute. People are idiots.

Call the casino and ask them to check for you…

They have been honoring free plays so you should be good .

I wonder if the hackers have the list of the biggest 1000 MGM losing Gamblers and will start leaking that list.. revealing whales 10 a day in a countdown would really turn up the heat on MGM.. lots of bosses prolly would not want their losses made public.

1. This is normal monthly free play offer, three blocks per month iirc, not associated with a stay. In fact I can’t stay, see below.

2. Tech is wife’s fp and our cards are not yet linked. Since she can’t go I can’t use her room offers but I have my own elsewhere. But also were there problems, I cant get the reward desk to help.

3. Wife has called and spoke with her host. Host understands situation and has no probs with what being done. If she could she would link cards but can’t until wife can go with late in month. But host says free play and all onsite systems are up and should be no problems. External facing systems are improving but not yet fully back.

So based on what host shared, gonna make a quick trip.

Sounds like MGM's cyber insurance will cover up to $200 million. Cyber insurance is becoming more and more popular these days and this is perfect example of why it should be.
