3 hours on a podcast that is seen by roughly 1 million people and this guy says nothing for 95% of the show. It's blatantly obvious that Rogan has very little interest in Poker and will never have. Guy answers the "is poker rogged" question by saying that because he saw some guy multiaccounting in college years ago, that, yes, it is.

online MTT'r with some live success as well, I cant remember his screenname off hand. He was loosely associated with JJProdigy and there was a scandal at some point when he FT'd (maybe shipped?) either a WCOOP or FTOPS and players alleged he was on the phone with JJ throughout the whole FT.

Rogan has admitted that he doesn't know much about poker in the past. He had Negreanu on his podcast a couple years back and there was a fallout between Rogan and Negreanu over the "professionalism" of his podcast which I think was later panned out. BTW, the JRE podcast has come a long way since then and is often at the top of the comedy section of iTunes.

Rogan is a fan of pretty much any competitive game/sport and always has some interesting guests that bring some interesting points to the table. I for one enjoy the JRE. Some episodes can be a little long as they are all about 3 hours long, but there is something called the fast forward button.

I do agree his choice in Matthew Vengrin was not the best to represent poker, but again Rogan is not a part of this community and they have a mutual relationship through Onnit (Alpha Brain) which Rogan owns a certain percentage of.

Don't hate the guy for at least attempting to shine some light on poker.

Disclosure: I haven't watched the Vengrin episode yet.

Rogan has the best podcast on the internet imo. I use to imagine him as an idiotic meat-head because of his association w/ fear factor and ufc but I was completely wrong. He's a really intelligent, cool person. I'll give this a listen soon.

are you sure the fallout was during his podcast? i thought it was when on a opie and anthony ep where negreanu was the guest and rogan was also sitting in.

Eh, Rogan is mildly smarter than average and funnier than average, but he uses that mostly as an excuse to be a tactless d-bag.

I can't see him really changing his opinion about much, regardless of who he has on.

Ummmm... wat? Please support your opinion with some sort of evidence. I honestly think you just don't know anything about him.

Some of you are simply incredible. This is a big name podcast interviewing a poker player and all you have to say is how it's not the perfect situation. Not to mention, you immediately jump on bashing the player and the host? Who cares if it isn't the absolutely perfect situation, it's poker out in the mainstream media that isn't tied to some ridiculous reality show, which we haven't had in a very long time.

Cut the pessimism, try to look at it as a glass half full.

the funny /ironic/whatever you want to call it thing about vengrin saying poker is rigged bc he once saw someone MA in college once is that in Aruba the dude straight up asked me to use my account for the WCOOP horse event so he could have more chances. I declined.

PS that is the longest run on sentence I have ever written

I actually thought Matthew came across ok in this, but I agree JC would have been a much better guest. Joe even referenced JC when talking about living in Mexico. Let's hope he gets a spot sometime soon too.

Eh, it's pretty clear that you know nothing about Joe Rogan and haven't listened to his podcast and especially not this episode. Eh.

I am not sure as I am just working from memory. Sorry if I got the details wrong.

I just watched this Vengrin episode and I thought it was not characteristic to a typical JRE podcast. Rogan normally engages the guest much more than this. After the 2nd hour, I felt Rogan was engaging Vengrin like he should have the whole time.

Rogan seemed more interested in shooting the **** with Redban (the other guy) than getting to know more info from Vengrin for a majority of the podcast.

I feel that Rogan was skeptical of Vengrin and what he is trying to do with mentally training MMA fighters. I mean, he was like so you aren't an expert at this, and where did you get this info from again? So why are you doing this again?

But yea, overall pretty poor episode of the JRE in my opinion.
