Is anybody else as scared as I am that if someone was smart and could see your cards (a la Trojan or Russ Hamilton) and weren't like these fools and lost a few hands on purpose they would never get caught? I mean I've seen the hand histories of one of these cheats (think it was Russ) where he was winning every single hand....5 betting with bottom pair vs AK....maximizes every street....over and over where he has to get caught. Don't you think there's somebody or 20 people out there with half a brain that's winning a few, losing a few for 8 hours until they're up 40K for the day. Then come back the next day and do it all over again? That's what really scares me.

Probably not, because playing 8 hours a day gets pretty old pretty quickly when you're cheating.

I know that if I ever get involved in playing serious online poker again, even at the medium stakes games I play, I will have a dedicated poker computer that I will NOT use to surf the web or download anything... I will only use programs that I know are most probably safe (Table ninja, Pokertracker/HEM, notecaddy, etc.) and I will use very good security software that informs me of anything unusual going on.

I wont let anyone use or have access to that computer and, as someone bought up earlier in this thread, I will not fall asleep while hookers are in my home. (Ok, I'll try not to)

what no one has addressed tho is whether these trojans are conceivable- are they logging into teamviewer automatically and sending video or screen-grabbing info and using msn?- and how are they sending info back and forth without the user noticing? Just ask because some knowledgeable guys are arguing this point

Oh a snarky idiot on an internet forum, surprising. I was friends with Matt a few years ago before he lost touch with reality, we had a falling out and haven't spoken for a couple years. I will clarify for you, I saw him play on Alladiin. I don't have proof but just thought I would help shed some light on this ****ed up situation. I'll know better for next time though.

Honestly, because this isn't a situation I want to be in the middle of, I just want to clear up some speculation when I can be useful. Anyone who knows Matt knows that If I were to "out" myself I would have Matt blowing up my phone, threatening me legally and probably physically. While Matt is no more threatening then a butterfly, I have a life and this situation is not something I want to throw myself in the middle of. Correspondence with Matt is not something I want any part of anymore. It just gets frustrating seeing Matt lie repeatedly on twitter etc, so from time to time I may clear up speculation. Whether people believe me or not, I don't really care. Fwiw I'm pretty sure Matt never cheated using a trojan and could never see anyone's hole cards, but what he doesn't seem to understand is discussing doing it (to a friend no less) makes him an absolute lowlife and is not much better then actually cheating. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Matt is an unbelievably insecure person, and that's where a lot of his comments come from. Even knowing that his attitude and comments repulse many who considered him a "friend". Him saying that he has never done anything shady in poker is laughable. I think he may be so deranged he believes it all though. It's easy to just say the world is full of haters, rather than really taking a look at one's self and realizing that they have become a bad person. I know he won't be held accountable in any reasonable fashion, hopefully those who were recently accepting of his "antics" will think twice about their associations with him. Because one thing that Matt cares dearly about which can be taken away from him, is his status in poker.

no of course he couldn't see hole cards, i would've mentioned that. I know he was being staked or chopping action. I would guess that the scammers let him play on the account because they knew he was a winning player and they wanted to legitimize the play on the account, and maybe wanted to set him up for later. But I dont know.
